Others here have touted the games storyline as moving and beautiful, and maybe it is. I can only say that riding a horse for 10 minutes to get to a different version of a task I've just finished isn't my idea of fun. It's a visually pleasing game, but not much fun in the actual gameplay department. And, to me, that's just unforgivable. I didn't even finish the game. Anyone want it?

Definitely not your conventional fare, this is a visionary masterpiece from the people who made "Ico". The player controls a young man (referred to in the Japanese version only as "Wander") who decides to commit a grave sacrilege to bring a young girl back to life. The focus of the game is not the plot, which is often vague and ambiguous, but the epic battles. Each Colossus encounter is equal parts puzzle game and boss battle. I can't think of how to do this game justice except to say that in all seriousness it could be the greatest game of all time. At the time of writing this article there is a sequel to this game called "The Last Guardian" scheduled for release next year. I don't doubt there will be a lot of buzz around that game so if you want to be in the know, get this game now so you can sound like a hipster when people talk about "Shadow of the Colossus" or "The Last Guardian".

This game works in PCSX2 but be sure to use the beta. I have 9800GTX, 2.2ghz C2D, 3.25gb ddr2. The 0.9.6 "stable" version gets about 10-30fps, unplayable. I tried every setting and turned down the graphics to the bare minimum. Didn't help much.
The PCSX2 site makes the beta out to be incomplete and complete crap, but it's just the opposite. The 0.9.7 "beta" got almost 70 fps with this game, even with max graphical settings on.

tl;dr the stable version sucks, get the beta.

I bought this game used from amazon and burned the .iso from that disc, so it's all legal.
