This review is from: Shadow: A Cottontail Bomber Crew in World War II (Hardcover)
This book is a very good view into the men of the 450th Bomb Group, and some of the trials and tribulation while in a foreign nation, defending the American way of life. I enjoyed reading the daily logs of the Shadow and some of the personal logs of the crew. My father was assigned to the same squadron and I was hoping his name would pop up in the book, but it didn't. I'm sending it to my brothers and sister for them to read, and how we as a family were so proud of our father.

Excellent story of 15th Air Force Bomber Crew,
This review is from: Shadow: A Cottontail Bomber Crew in World War II (Hardcover)
I found this to be a great book about the lives, training, and military service,of a B-24 bomber crew. Neil really brought these these men to "life" with his excellent historical research and interviews. I would highly recommend this book. It's a great tribute to the brave young men who flew through the flak filled skies of Europe,to preserve our freedom.

Shadow: A Cottontail Bomber Crew in World War II An excellent book for anyone that is interested in the air war in Europe during WWII. These are very personal accoounts of the men that flew some of the most dangerous missions of the war. My Father flew B-24's in the same theatre of the war. This book provided an in-depth look at what his experience must have been like. Well done sir!

My father was a member of the 450th cottontail bombers. He did fly a 51st mission for the memory of a fellow soldier whose plain blew up on take off during WWII. My father passed away this past year, was very opinionated, but after reading this book that I purchased for him, he said it was not a true account. His words were something like, "if you like fiction or want a good debate, read this book".
