I loved this game. It was my second PS2 game (the first being Zone of the Enders). When I heard this was getting a PSP port I was very excited. It's an adventure/mystery game with a pretty interesting story, time travel, and multiple endings. A warning for those who have played the PS2 version, this is not the exact same game, contrary to some reviews. The voice actors are different (not as good imo), Eike sounds much younger almost has a cocky anime boys voice, Homunculus sounds more boyish now and talks way too fast, and the graphics are crisper than the original PS2 one. One gripe and one plus for the PSP version. Overall it's entertaining and mostly the same game. 4 stars. It would have been 5 if they kept the voice actors.

As you may know, the premise of this game is quite interesting. You play as a young man, Ike, who almost immediately gets stabbed to death in the street. You are then awakened by a mysterious being who gives you a time travel device to allow to try and prevent your demise. While the story can be a bit forced at times, it is an interesting back and forth; dying, preventing your death, dying a different way, preventing that death, etc. Be warned, this is an old ps2 game, and as such it plays like an old adventure game: sparse locales, sparse locals who talk nonsense, some trial and error "puzzles" and such. But it's still an interesting game with an interesting story. Too bad there's no demo, as this game is not for everyone.

I played this game for the first time on the ps2 in its original form. Yes its graphics are somewhat old now, but the idea is still marvelous and needs to be developed into another game! This game is deep and thought-provoking, with many endings that are all fun to dig up and has very high replay value. The entire point of the game is to prevent your own death, yet by the end you're causing your own causes and the different choices you make change your past too.. well.. it makes much more sense if you just play it. Many other fans I've run into over the years have said it's the most under-commercialized good game in history. I can't stress how much I wish this game was given more love.

I am the kind of player who usually plays games here and there and it may take me a little longer to complete than a regular player. It doesn't mean I enjoy them any less than the other guy, I just can't find the time to play as much as I used to when I was a little younger. The game starts off with our main character Eike (pronounced Ike) dying. The point of the game is to travel back and forth through time and change things as to not end up horizontal. The story turns into a huge mystery involving a character known as the homunculus, and a few other figures. It also gives you the options of what to change during each time period, or what to let fall by the waist side. The game itself isn't more than about 5-7 hours I would say, and the majority of the game is running around and picking up items or talking to people. There is a little notebook Eike will write in automatically in the game which usually can put you on the right path if you are confused as to where to go to next. However if you wait too long and waste too much time, Eike will end up dead again. During the present time if Eike dies, then he will die automatically no matter which time period you are in as him. Hence needing certain items or events to happen to stop said death. Shadow of Destiny plays pretty slowly, with a good solid story and no action to speak of. This game is not for a run and gunner or action buff. It's slow and methodical, not fast and crazy. Most people with no attention span will not find the fun in this. Other people who probably read or try to figure things out and be a little more logical in their game play, should enjoy this on a few levels. I had this game on the PS2 and for some reason didn't enjoy being timed. I decided to give it a whirl now that I'm a little older and more patient, and I had a great deal of fun with it. Gameplay: B (a solid game, decent length for one play through, can really make you think and put your morals in question a couple times as well.) Graphics: B (nice graphics for the psp, similar to something on the PS2 or even a bit better) Sound: B (the voices were a little grating, Eike's and the homunculus especially. But the sounds and music are kind of mysterious and creepy, which is good.) Fun: B (a great adventure game for people who like to think through a game, not run and gun.) Difficulty: B (can be a touch confusing on what to do next on occasion, but with about 5 ends or so you can always go back and do things differently to open more information.) Overall: B (I thoroughly enjoyed my time with this title, and expect to go back to it down the line and play it differently as to see a different ending. It will take someone a long time to get each ending so the replay value is definitely there.)

This game is very different and its really fun to play when you bored. Its like a strategic puzzle. You walk around with your person and try to find different ways to prevent your death.(I know sounds interesting and fun Right)Its not what I thought it would be, but hey its a game and worth buying:)

The premise of the game was interesting, but game control is limited and time travel is restricted. I was bored after a few chapters and traded the game before finishing. It was a waste of money.
