Ms. Blackstock has done it again,
By A Customer
This review is from: Shadow of Doubt (Newpointe 911 Series #2) (Paperback)
Terri Blackstock's novels have got be some of the greatest mysteries I have ever read. Though she may not get as much publicity due to the fact that her books are from a Christian perspective, they are none the less astounding. I loved this book. It was interesting from front to back. You are constantly wondering if Celia will ever get out of the mess that she is in. It also is amazing how Blackstock shows that putting your trust in God is more rewarding than we think it is. A wonderful book and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who likes a good mystery.

TERRI BLACKSTOCK GAINS A NEW FAN!,

This is the second in '911 Newpointe' series and also the second book I have read by Terri Blackstock. I was a fan after reading the first book in the series but this just confirmed it. I love the suspense and intrigue she puts into her stories. All the ingredients that make up a good suspense/mystery novel are here. The story also shows the importance of friends and of their trust in you. In addition, it portrays the faithfulness and total reliability of God when people can be cold and accusing. A brilliant book.

I have read all of Terri Blackstock's books and have enjoyed all of them. Her mystery books are all but impossible to put down, and this one does not disappoint in this area! I never guessed for a moment who the true "guilty" person was. The book also shows how God is always with us, even in those times where it just doesn't "feel" like He is. A great book, I highly recommend it. I would recommend reading the first book in this series, "Private Justice", before reading this one.

WOW! I could not put this book down. I sat down and started reading and when I finished, it was 1:30am. Just when I thought I knew who the suspect was, the author would bring an interesting twist into the plot. What a moment it is when the suspect is revealed and you have "correctly" solved the case! It keeps you on the edge of your seat, as well as gently reminds us that we don't fight our own battles, God does. This was my first Terri Blackstock book that I've read and I promise I will read more of her work. It's a MUST-READ!!!

One of two of the best books I have EVER read,

This was an excellent murder mystery thriller. I LOVED it. I won't be able to wait 24 hours before starting the third. It is so suspenseful the whole way through. I thought I knew who did it but that changed within minutes because of all the unexpected turns. We also learn that if we put God in control the outcome will change majorly. If you do decide to read this I strongly suggest reading the first book "Private Justice" first. It ranked as sky-high as this one.

Cilia Sheperd's husband, Stan, becomes violently ill. It is discovered that he was a victim of arsenic poisoning. Who could do such a thing? With no suspects, Cilia becomes the prime suspect. At first, everyone is sure she is innocent. But when it is found out that she was accused of this same crime years earlier, even her family begins to wonder....Shadow of A Doubt will keep you on the edge of your seat. This book is very suspenseful and will keep you guessing to the end. It will also strengthen your faith in Christ. A must read for everyone who likes a good mystery.

I was so happy to find books without one single cuss word or sexual content. I have read three of Terri Blackstock's books in the past two weeks. I read Shadow of Doubt in one day. I just could not put it down. I can't wait to start reading another book by Terri. From what I have read so far I would recommend all of Terri's books.

A Mystery??????,
By A Customer
This review is from: Shadow of Doubt (Newpointe 911 Series #2) (Paperback)
This is a good book. The only proble is... half way through I knew who the criminal was. Don't get me wrong, the ending was awesome, but it would have been even better if Terri Blackstock had made it a little less predictable. But if you want to read a good book, read this. Maybe you'll think differently

A wonderful Story,
By Allison (Morton) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Shadow of Doubt (Newpointe 911 Series #2) (Paperback)
The story begins in Celia and Stan Shepherd's house on Mill Street in a small city named Newpointe. The day had gone along just as every other day except for the fact that during the night Stan had a horrible stomach ache and was terribly dizzy.
The doctor's do lab work on Stan's blood and they see that he has been poisoned by arsenic. Celia is traumatized and becomes very quiet. When questioned it comes to the front that her previous husband was poisoned the same way and he died. However, she had been the one who had been tried and came very close to being convicted. Fortunately the charges were dropped when one of the lawyers went a little too far and started to sound biased. Throughout this whole story Celia is trying to put her life back together and she is trying to keep her world from falling down. Her friends and even some of her closest family members turn their backs on her. It seems to her as if someone is trying to sabotage her and trying to make her look very much like the killer. The police officers are convinced that she is the murderer and so are many readers. Throughout the whole story different things are happening and it seems as if every minute something new is happening. As different people are introduced into the story it seems as if the suspects change so you never really know who did it. The ending is extremely surprising and many other readers agree with me.

Weak Characterization...Correct That! No Characterization!,
By KLR "KLR" (Vicksburg, MI) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Shadow of Doubt (Newpointe 911 Series #2) (Paperback)
Wow, it shocks me that this book received so many good reviews. I ended up putting it down after about 130 pages because the book had absolutely NO characterization. Each character was a stick figure, very one-dimensional. All I knew was their name and occupation. How am I supposed to sympathize or like these characters that way? It also was confusing to have two main characters with very similiar names (Allie and Aggie). I also was confused by all the characters introduced throughout and the purpose for them. There were multiple meaningless chapters with just people gossiping...why? What new information does that reveal? This is the first Blackstock book I've read. Are all her characters so one-dimensional?! If so, this will be the last one I read.
