4.0 out of 5 stars pretty awesome!! November 25, 2011

I just got kindle fire from as my first tablet and let me tell you I had no idea that they had games this cool for touch screen devices. Before I say anything let me say this is certainly worth the six bucks I paid for it.

Graphics for this game are pretty good, I'd put them in the ps2 range. Gameplay is fast and decently fluid, but like others have said the controls can be a bit clunky especially when turning. Storywise it's pretty "meh" but it's more than good enough for the price. It's also pretty satisfying to shoot people in game, nothing like CoD but good nonetheless.

Lastly, the game freezes now and again but the autosave frequency is pretty reasonable so it's no biggie just to restart the kindle.

Great game all in all though. Hope to see more like it.

4.0 out of 5 stars A fun Uncharted knockoff... September 6, 2012
Verified Purchase
If you have read this far then you are probably aware that Shadow Guardian is "inspired" by Sony's Uncharted series. As far as the platforming goes, Shadow Guardian is surprisingly close. When I first played this game I had recently played a LOT of Uncharted: Golden Abyss and climbing around ancient ruins in both games felt very similar to each other. The key differences between Shadow Guardian are in the story and production values.

I played this on my Kindle Fire and didn't have any problems with running the game. You control your character with a virtual joystick on the lower left corner of the screen and it works well enough. It may not be quite as good as having an actual joystick but I never felt hampered by having to use a touchscreen. Your right thumb controls aiming and combat. I did have some problems aiming here and there but nothing too bad. For a game that uses touchscreens, Shadow Guardian controls surprisingly well. It may be a bit of a learning curve for players new to tablet gaming but you should get the hang of it pretty quickly.

My biggest complaint with the game is the enemy AI. The bad guys do some stupid things every now and then. For example, in a part of the game where a group of soldiers ambushed my character I saw one soldier running in place against a stone block on the ground. I was able to leisurely pull out my character's gun, reload it, aim at the enemy and fire while he was still running in place. This game is easy for the first few chapters and the difficulty picks up around Chapter 5.

Shadow Guardian has more of a B-movie tone than Uncharted. This game's story leans more towards supernatural entities and the cheesy voice acting works in a strange way to add to that B-movie feel. While Shadow Guardian is not a better game than Uncharted, it is quite a good game, especially for the price of a few dollars. If you have a device capable of playing this game, I suggest you check it out.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good April 3, 2013
This was the first gameloft game I bought and I was sorta impressed. This Game is basically the memory of the main character who's a modern day version of Indiana Jones. You will be finding statues and treasures and fighting bad guys. This game has pretty good action and graphics. Just one problem. This game is basically 1/3 fighting and 2/3 climbing. It could get pretty boring sometimes just climbing. Plus I'm not sure it was worth 5.99. For .99 sure but the price right now wouldn't fit a game that's just okay.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Must Have for KF! December 26, 2011

Everyone knows why they got a kindle fire, entertainment, and this game gives it. The graphics is great, gameplay is smooth, and the storyline is good enough. The controls are easy to handle as well. The price is a steal for what you're getting out of this game. Get this! (sn: hoping for a sequel)

5.0 out of 5 stars Gameloft=Quality games December 23, 2011

I was surprised at the quality of Shadow Guardian. The storyline is pretty good, graphics are well done and the game runs smoothly on the kindle fire. This game is similar to Uncharted. I have bought several of the games by Gameloft and they create great looking games that run well. I would definitely recommend this game especially now that it is on sale for only 99 cents.

2.0 out of 5 stars A nifty proof of concept. December 23, 2011

At first it's pretty impressive to have something like this on a tablet, but after a while you realize that it's a pretty miserable experience without buttons, and the game itself benefits hugely from the lowered expectations of being on a tablet. Once you get over that you realize you're playing a remarkably bland game with mediocre art direction and bad controls. Stick with simpler games.more suited to a tablet and leave the big action games on platforms that can actually do them justice.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun "Uncharted" Clone!! November 21, 2011

If you've played Uncharted for PS3 then you'll be right at home with this portable wanna be! Controls work fairly well for touch based controls & it runs very smooth on Kindle Fire. It's definitely one of the highlights of the Kindle Fire game choices.
