This book is incridable. It combinds mystery, murder, romance, and manipulation. The way the auther takes the pasts of the characters and uses them to shape their actions and their reactions to the challenges they face. Plus the fact that the characters work and help each other. Some secrets shouldn't stay buried
Another in the Great Lakes Legends series by Colleen Rhoads. This story focuses on Jake Baxter, a paleontologist who's sure he's discovered a new breed of dinosaur in the fields near Skye Blackbird's garnet mine, which is close to being sold. Skye is sure that the mine holds diamonds, like her (late) father suggested it did, but Jake's digging is conflicting...

Another in the Great Lakes Legends series by Colleen Rhoads. This story focuses on Jake Baxter, a paleontologist who's sure he's discovered a new breed of dinosaur in the fields near Skye Blackbird's garnet mine, which is close to being sold.Skye is sure that the mine holds diamonds, like her (late) father suggested it did, but Jake's digging is conflicting with her desire to find the diamonds. The mystery is solid, with red herrings thrown here and there. There's a neat subplot about science and Christianity coexisting (as if they ever didn't) due to Jake's vocation. A very good read.

The way the auther takes the pasts of the characters and uses them to shape their actions and their reactions to the challenges they face. Plus the fact that the characters work and help each other. So they are not left alone to deal and conquer their past and present problems makes it the story all the more intriging.
