More Sexy Tales from the Mighty Quinn,
By "victoriaparke_tv" (fort lauderdale, florida) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Shadow & Light (Volume 4) (Paperback)
I am a big fan of Quinn and have followed the 'Shadow and Light' series from volume 1. In case you don't know, this is a series of erotic comics that are XXX and handsomely printed and formatted by their publisher, Ameroritca. Quinn stands apart from the competition that I've seen in two ways: the skill of his writing and the skill of his graphic and realistic XXX art. I particularly like the fact that Quinn doesn't use comic balloons or captions within a panel. Instead, all text is outside so that it doesn't overlay the very sexy artwork. This volume is unique in the series because the four stories are based on real-life experiences relayed to Quinn by female admirers. That adds a new dimension to the book, imagining the real events that took place that the stories are based on. While I look forward to the continuation of prior fictional pieces in volume 5, these stories are definitely a nice change of pace. One of the stories involves a 'glory hole' and that was my personal favorite, followed by one about a young white girl who taunts a well-hung black male who sees her through the glass doors in her back yard when he's reading the electric meter. A complaint? Not against this volume but I do want to mention something I'd personally like to see in the future in case the mighty Quinn is listening in.... I'm a crossdresser (male-2-female persona) and enjoy fetish parties where I live. I've had some sexual encounters with both males and females decked out this way. Trust me, there's lots of colorful material there and I'd just love to see this phenomena explored my Quinn in a future volume. But, no worries. If you enjoyed the other volumes you're certain to like this one as well. And if you missed the others, Volume 4 is a great place to start since all the stories are stand-alone. Volumes 1-3 do have stories that span several volumes, so the best place to start is with # 4 or # 1.

I simply love all of the volumes in this series. Obviously, you need to be this kind of kink, but if you are I can only say that I found the stories and the imagery erotic. I have purchased a wide variety of literature on my kind of sexuality, and these books are some of the few I have kept.

Why did you have to do such a good job with this incredible series of adult comics? Why did you draw them so accurately and lovingly? Why did you pick such credible vignettes, such beautiful men and women, and such an articulate style of artwork?
Do you know what you did? You made every other adult comic in the world look juvenile, perverse, or both. You made it impossible for me to enjoy just about anything else out there - the literacy of your storytelling and graphite graphics set a standard that all the rest short of. Oh, yes, your work is a lush and juicy as any, but the characters are so much more real and generally likable. You've ruined all those other titles for me. And probably not just for me, you will probably raise the expectations of any other thinking reader who picks up your erotica, and leave them equally unsatisfied with the rest of what's in print. Worst of all, you've put the back cover way too close to the front - just when you've really got me engaged in the stories and artwork, it's all over. What do you have to say for yourself? //wiredweird

My first by Quinn,

Firstly noone mentioned it wasnt in colour, so Im used to colour and didnt like that. It was nicely drawn, realistic with four different stories which were quite interesting. The ladies in this one are 'bushy' ( :p ) and in two of the stories the characters mix interacially which isnt really my thing. The one story was a little sickening too-the man was made to eat the 'bodily fluids' of the entire room while blind folded(GAG!). Cant say this will be one of my favourites.
