I beat Shadow Madness about less than 30 hours with its Prima's Official Strategy Guide. That book helps me a lot and understand what I do with that game. I hope you buy that book.

I found this title to be no less useful than the online and magazine FAQs available for it. Maps are given to the players when you need them most (i.e., the maze sections) and the walkthrough is extremely legible. The enemy compendium is ultra-comprehensive; each and every detail about the creatures is explained to the player quite nicely. However, the guide does lack in some other essential areas. Most notable is the absence of item/weapon/armor lists with stats and "equipable" info about each one with respect to each character. Only the magical forms of these items are covered. In addition, none of the off-the-beaten-path areas in the dungeons are covered, and thus certain items and wares can be missed if one follows the walkthrough verbatim. More time should have been devoted to this rather than filling up space with game plot summary. In addition, there are [a few] mistakes in the directions the walkthrough provides, such as "right" when it should say "left." Aforementioned flaws aside, you will be able to get through Shadow Madness with no problem with this guide. Just realize that it's not the most complete thing around--use other FAQs to "fill in the blanks", if you will.

All and all a good book, it just lacks most of the secrets and info about the out of the way places, not a croud pleaser, not a blowout, all it does is tell you how to beat the game. It does give intersting detail about the characters though.

The game is the best game I have ever played.,

This game is amasing and far surpases Final Fantasy 7 my used to be favorite game. I like how every city/place you can go has a mystery or problem to solve in it. The summon spells are spectacular. Also it is good how you can get so many different armor and items. Great Grafics. I would say this is the best rpg ever.

All that I could have hoped for,

The game is the smartest most creative, greatest RPG there ever was and there ever will be. For fans of the game or people that cant beat the Maddness both, this is certainly a must own. It gives endless battle details to help you out, and a few jokes on the screen captures to keep you reading. It is helpful the most when you are trapped in a maze and can't find your way out, there is a fully detailed map. To make a long story short, a great book for a timeless RPG game.

Too much like other RPG's but still some good parts,

The one thing that makes this game different from other games is the beautiful Summon Spells. As soon as you cast them a great FMV follows up and you dont have to watch it if dont want to. But that was about the only new thing, sure the fighting system was bit different but it was nothing spectacular. I gave this a 4 because even though it's not much different than other RPG's it's still not crapy because most other RPG's are good also.
