I have been following Stacie Rose throughout her career and each album only gets better and better. Her music is timeless, just like those amazing albums that one can listen to over and over, I pretty much know every word (and listen to the words...she's an amazing lyricist)! Two of my favs are "High as a Moon" and "Shine".

Now this is a Pop Songstress I can get behind. She's poignant but down-to-earth, she's intelligently poetic, she's expressive and unafraid, she's flirtatious and fun....and her melodies stick in your head like a good melody should. Check out the bonus interview on the disc for some insight into this songwriter whose personal spin on personal stuff makes you wanna dig into your own journal scribbles to add some more thoughts she has inspired. I love the production...beautifully supports, and never overpowers, this girl's gifts.

LISTEN TO THIS RECORD! I loved the first one, THIS IS MINE. As a debut record I thought it hit the mark on every level. So when I popped in the new one SHADOW & SPLENDOR I stopped what I was doing and listened all the way through. All I can say is WOW, DOUBLE WOW! If you're in need of one of those records that does everything buy this one. Stacie has some great tunes here and I especially like how they remind me of songs I've loved for ages. And as a HUGE U2 fan I was not looking forward to the cover of NEW YEAR'S DAY, but she really pulls it off. Her reading of it gives the lyrics a whole new meaning.
