Book Description

September 4, 2002
Two things they never told you about the morning of August 6, 1945:

The flash was so bright that you can still see shadows left by people’s bodies on buildings and stones.

It was an especially important day for one beautiful young woman, Shiro. Beneath the blue sky, she stood trembling in the rock garden because

It was her wedding day.

I was her husband.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice book, tugs at your heartstrings. Kinda intense, February 27, 2003
This review is from: The Shadow Stones of Hiroshima (Paperback)
I got the hardcover. Nice book. Well, actually it's sad, but nicely written.
I have dealt with some cancer patients but I had never heard of the Shadows. That's wild to think that the flash was so bright that people turned to shadows on stone.
I liked the way you couldn't tell if the man was halluinating or not. That gave it so much suspense.
I'm giving it 4 stars because parents should use some discretion before letting kids read Hiroshima Stones - it's a shocker!

Have fun!

5.0 out of 5 stars A real winner - tight, fast, well-researched and, romantic, October 5, 2002
By
This review is from: The Shadow Stones of Hiroshima (Paperback)
I found Hiroshima Stones to offer profound insight into the history of peace and war from around 1940 to 1960. I think this quick-reading book will be of extreme interest both to people looking for interesting, dramatic storytelling as well as those looking for accurate historical information. it packs the punch of a Tom Clancy techno-thriller into a very tight little package, with plenty of action and romance. Obviously a lot of research has been done by the author.

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely has my Most High Recommendation, September 19, 2002
By
Sher (United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Shadow Stones of Hiroshima (Paperback)
I received an advance review copy of Hiroshima Stones and was utterly blown away (no pun intended) by the combination of the depth of research and the depth of the human emotion. Very tastefuly done, not gory or profane, yet powerful and honest, not sidestepping issues of violence, sex, and drug use. The Author has a brisk, vibrant writing style that sweeps you along like you're watching a movie. I felt that my time was respected; I was able to read the book quickly without being bogged down in needless details.
I have a much greater appreciation for the sufferings of all people who want peace in this warlike world. I suggest you read it.
