3.0 out of 5 stars Sacred Stones trilogy, October 5, 2004
This book is one of those comprising "The Sacred Stones" trilogy. The other books are: "The Temple of the Sun" and "The Tall Stones." The other two books are very entertaining. I'd say the trilogy is mythological fantasy fiction. Its worth reading the entire trilogy, though I think "Shadows on the Stones" was markedly less enjoyable than the other two.

3.0 out of 5 stars Mildly interesting if you read other two books, February 12, 2011

This review is from: Shadow on the Stones (Hardcover)
I chose to read this book as I had read the other two books in this trilogy. Other reviewers lamented this book was not as good as the others. They are right; still, if you are curious to see what happens to the main characters, it can be interesting, but the quality of the story is not as high. It struck me as the whole series was written for a teenage reader; the vocabulary, sentence structure, and general mien are not particularly high or sophisticated. The author likes to throw in some mysticism and symbolism in various places, neither improving nor making the book any worse (perhaps a bit more unrealistic, though). I guess in summary I feel the book is all right if you want some light reading about ancient Britain in the time of the druids.
