More About the Author

"Tom Bielawski is a bright light in today's dark sea of new writers. His writing gives me hope for the next generation of dreamers. I highly recommend both him and his works." - NYT Bestselling author, Tracy Hickman.

"Tom is a great literary voice in a sea of indies." -Best selling independent author, MR Mathias

Veteran Marine, lawman, and graduate of NYT Bestselling author Tracy Hickman's online workshop called the "Scribe's Forge."

I've always had a deep love of speculative fiction, particularly epic fantasy and science fiction adventures. I am so humbled and grateful for the chance to appear on your bookshelf, that I'm going to share a little bit of what you might find on mine. I grew up playing Dungeons and Dragons and reading Tracy Hickman, JRR Tolkien, CS Lewis, Lloyd Alexander, and Ann McCaffrey. Later I dug in to Robert Jordan, R.A Salvatore, M.R. Mathias, John Locke, Orson Scott Card, Robert Aspirin, Isaac Asimov, Joseph Lallo, and Brian Rathbone.

Some of my favorite works are The Chronicles of Narnia, The Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, The Wheel of Time, Dragonlance, Forgotten Realms, Ender's Game series. Though I've not read the books, I'm a huge fan of the Star Wars and Star Trek movie series'. I am also partial to reading Clive Cussler, CJ Box, Brad Thor, and Tom Clancy.

My future projects include a contemporary thriller series in the style of Bourne and Bond, a series of biographies of not-so-well known or loved (but influential nonetheless) Americans for children, a brand new fantasy series, 18th Century American Frontier fiction, and a series of Christian themed short stories.

How am I going to get all that done? Some of it already is. Stay tuned and thank you for taking the time to explore the wild imaginings. I'm a Dragon Highlord in my own mind!

It has been a while since I read volume 1 (and that was before it was split into two books), so it took me a little while to pick the story back up, having said that my three star rating is quite generous. This story has so much potential and at times it is the story I had hoped it would be. Now this volume has very little about Carym in fact I believe there is only one chapter with Carym in it. Zack is the main focus in this volume which is fine but to me Carym is the main character of the story. Having said all that I will read the next volume, and if you read the previous volume (s) and enjoyed that then I would suggest this book to you, if you have not read the other book you will be lost in this book so first read volume 1. Enjoy

I've really liked this series. Tom Bielawski has done an excellent job of creating an immersive environment with multiple plots going on at once. I've gotten really into the books and cannot wait for the next one to be released. The one nit (and yes, we've had lice make their rounds so i know what nits are and what a pain picking nits is) I have is the names are strange and hard for me to get used to. I have gotten used to them, but it took some time.

In this third installment of the Chronicles of Lars, we see the darkness that began in Zach in the second book, The Black Keep, only continues to grow. At the same time, you find yourself at times rooting for him! To me, one of the marks of a good author is that he makes you love his good characters and hate his bad ones - the mark of a great author is when he blurs those lines and has you loving and hating the same character. Can't wait for more in this series! Thanks for the amazing trip!

Hey I am not an English professor so my review will be based on a few other things other than the literary sense.

1-It was a good story
2-The author wrote in a way to keep the reader captivated (if they wanted of course).
3-Made you want the story to continue.

Now thats a good sci-fi/fantasy book for me.

I hope others enjoyed it. For those who did not time to find another book and move...

Take care :)

It seems like each book was written by three different people one at a time. The first third of the book was okay, the second third was bad, and the last third was not worth reading. The grammar is bad, not terrible, just bad. Many words cannot be found by my dictionary and the book contradicts itself in many places. The history and diplomacy is impossible to follow unless you keep track with a written chronology and if you do you will find the contradictions I refer to.

I read it, cover to cover, but I don't know why....
