This review is from: Shadowrun (Second Edition) (Paperback)
Run in the shadows between Mega-Corperations for pay. Be a mage in a era of computers. Flip your Smart-Link on and target your enemy with your Ingram warrior sub-machine gun. Hear the sound of gun shots as you drive your van packed full of shadowrunners just waiting to take on a corp. Be a rigger and remotly help your team. These are all options in "Shadowrun" the Role Playing Game. Defienetly one of the best ways to spend a saturday night with freinds. Run a long campain, or a three hour session with all your freinds. Best of all, enjoy being the game master, the man pulling all the strings for the players

I have been into Shadowrun for about 3 years now, the latest version is by far the best. You gett he feeling that someone is travelling in time to the time of the Runners and bring back a future history for us, it is so well written. There is everything a Runner could want or need to know. If you are interested in a future RPG, check this one out. Who knows, the Mayans may be write. We will have to wait and see. Not long now, 2012 I believe. Shadowrun may prove to be a future history after all......

I've been playing SR for three versions now, and it never ceases to amaze me. It is definatly one of the most complete, well thought out worlds and game systems out there. People looking to get into it, though, should by Shadowrun, version 3, not this one.

Probably the most original role-play book ever.,

Well where to start, its mystery, technology, magic and ethreality all in one. The choice of races, character types, skills and equipment is so extensive but not too complicated. This book is an ideal entry level RPG. With a good GM there are years in this one book alone.

This is the best RPG available, and on par or better than anything FASA has put out. Do yourself a favor and don't miss out on this one.

This book is a great thing. It's got all of the information that you could possibly ever need. It's got magic, matrix, combat, magical combat, matrix combat..... everything. I must admit that sometimes it's a little confusing to read, but It's still really good. Now for those of you that aren't exactly bent on buying this, I wouldn't buy it yet. Wait til third edition comes out. It should have better pictures (unlike the strange eighties punks in the drawings in the book now) and better rules for magic and skills. It's really cool, so if you want to start a SR campaign, or just undestand one better, I think that you really need this book. I played the wrong way for about two years, because my friend who owns the book lost about the first half of it, and this helped a lot.

Normally, I don't like cyberpunk. But Shadowrun, which has a cyberpunkish setting, has two things I really like. One, the rules work really well and fit together nicely. Two, Shadowrun adds fantasy elements to the mix giving it a feel quite different from other cyberpunk games. The Second Edition got rid of a lot of the kinks that were in the first so now it runs more smoothly. However, the Second Edition is minus the 2050s slang dictionary. Oh well.

By far the most in-depth role-playing game ever.,

This review is from: Shadowrun (Second Edition) (Paperback)
I have never played a more in-depth, versatile, and enjoyable role-playing game. Become a member of a segment of society known as shadowrunners, and work the other side of the law. The futuristic time line, and cautionary theme of megacorporations is extremely relevant to the here and now. The mixture of magic and technology is a theme that has not been developed so well. The thoughts and prejudices of this world really show how the more things change the more they stay the same.

This book is a great way to enjoy some time with you friends.
The shadowrun universe is fun, exciting, climatic, and is
full of suspense. This rule book lets you become the man
behind the corpoartion and you and your friends have a great
time adventuring. The book is in an easier to understand
dialog and explains the rules step by step. THis is at
the top of my list of Role playing games, and at the top of
my favorite things to do list. I recommend this to anyone
who is willing to take the time and read it and learn the
rules, and enjoy themselves.
