This review is from: Shadows 7 (Mass Market Paperback)
If only every editor out there could take heed of the Shadows series anthology edited by the late Great Charles L. Grant. I have been disappointed by so many such-called "chilling, frightening, scary" anthologies that it only makes the SHADOWS series that much better. There is not a snoozer among the set and yes, indeed some of the stories are positively frightening. At the very least they are worthy of being included in a horror based anthology.
Stand-outs in this edition are "Mrs. Clendon's Place", "Three Days", "Talking in the Dark" and the excellent "I Shall Not Leave England Now". Working my way thru the entire SHADOWS series and haven't been disappointed yet. If you like horror anthologies check it out. |
