5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing!
The other rewiew took the words right out of my mouth. This book is amazing. In my opinion its the best so far. I got the book today and finished it a few hours later and immediatly knew I have to write a review about it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Mad, Sad, and Excited
Well, this is truly a good book but a lot of it makes me mad. Darren Shan keeps killing of all the best characters. That makes me mad and sad!! But, as in all the other books it leaves you hanging at the end, which makes you really want to come back for more.

In book 11 of the Cirque Du Freak series (or the saga of Darren Shan) time has passed since Harkat and Darrens journey in book 10. Now working at the cirque where does the luck of the vampires lead him? Back to his home town! Darren is faced with difficult decicions, familiar friends, horrible truths, death and shocking events that will make you wish book 12 was already out!

I highly recommend this book.

If you like Darren Shans writing I also recommend The Demonata.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Most Suspenseful Yet, June 15, 2006
This was an excellent book! One of the best so far. It was definitely exciting, and suspenseful, though I think Shan might have fallen down a bit on his plot. Basically he goes back to his home town, meets back up with Vancha, Debbie, and Alice, and Steve, and discovers his sister, and the true demon within himself as he makes his transformation from half-mortal to full-vampire, and as he begins to fulfill prophecies set down by Mr.s Tiny and Tall, and Evanna. This was kind of a short read, but was a genuinely good book, and I'd recommend it to anyone who has read all the others (this would be a really disappointing read if you read the series out of order, so I would definitely not recommend that). In the second to last, a lot of loose ends are brought closer together, but not quite tied, that leaves readers dying for the next. All I can say is "Good job, Darren!"

5.0 out of 5 stars SHOCKING!!!!!, April 19, 2006
This book is amazing, I have spent today reading it and it is mind blowing. Continued after book 10, Darren is at the cirque helping out the staff and doing varoius jobs. It has been two years since he learned who Harkat truly was. Then Mr.Tall told him of where they are going. It was Darrens old neighborhood! Read it yourself to find out the rest and like me you will be shocked to see many familiar faces and plenty of shocking events to keep you hooked on reading it. I got one more thing to say, Go Darren Shan!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Shocking!, November 2, 2011
Warning! The summary for this book contains spoilers for those who have not read its prior counterparts. In other words, there are no spoilers for this particular book, just the ones before it. The review itself is, for the most part, spoiler free, however.

About the Book:

Darren returns to his home town, ready for the ultimate showdown with Steve Leonard, the Vampaneze Lord. Meanwhile, Darren is worrying about the prediction Evanna told him. In The Lake of Souls, Darren and Harkat find out that the world they traveled to was actually the Earth's future, created by the Lord of the Shadows. The catch is that the Lord of the Shadows will be one of two people: Steve Leonard or Darren Shan. In other words, if Steve is killed, Darren is the one destined to become the evil tyrant and send the world into chaos.

Review:

This series just keeps getting better and better. I did not want to put it down. It was interesting to see how Darren dealt with coming face to face with his human life and how he dealt with it. Of course, there is also plenty of action between Steve and Darren, along with the lead ups to their encounters.

Darren also runs into Debbie and Alice once more, and they have succeeded in putting together a human army to battle the vampets. Although it is nice to see Debbie doing something useful, I personally still cannot stand her. She just seems to cling to Darren too much.

Overall though I think the most thrilling aspects Shan brought to this piece was all the shocking twists and torments. It was quite shocking to see what sort of murders and violence went on in this book. I can easily think of three major points that occured and left me thinking, "I can't believe that just happened!" Lord of the Shadows was a fabulous read, and I don't think you will be disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lord of Shadows Book Review, November 3, 2006
A Kid's Review
If your searching for a comppelling, and entertaining book, then Cirque Du Freaks Lord of Shadows is the perfect book for you. Just like the previous 10 books in this series, there is a twist and turn at the end of every chapter. This book is about Darren Shan, a half vampire prince who is searchiing for Steve Leanord, his ex-best friend. Darren is out to kill him so that the vampires win the War of Scars. By doing this Darren will become the Lord of Shadows. The question is, is this a good thing? Evana, a witch who can see the future, tells Darren he will have too much power and kill all of the vampires and humans and even his own friends. However, Darren insists that he would never kill for the fun of it. Darren believes that it's possible to win the War of Scars and not be a endless killer. Evanna keeps telling him that it is impossible to change the course of the future. Will Darren Shan be able to kill Steve Leonard, win the War of Scars, and not turn into a insane killer? Read this amazing book that will keep you guessing.

My daughter has now read books 1-11 of this series and really loves them. I'm always happy when she finds books that she really wants to read, and this series has been just that. She jumped to these from the Twilight Series and what makes them even better is that the whole series is on the AR Reading list for the schools so she gets the AR Reading Credits for them after testing.
