Great German single. The revised "Shadowside" is even better than the album version. The second track is a demo version of "Mother Nature Goes To Heaven", and is slower paced than the original version, but the guitars are more pronounced. If you have the full "Foot of the Mountain" cd, then you'll want the Shadowside single to match.

When I first heard this beautiful song from A-ha' most current & what proved to be their very last studio album, "FOOT OF THE MOUNTAIN"; I thought that it would & should be released as a single. Although I loved the album version I felt that as a single it should be 'remixed' a little', giving it abit more oomf,a little more power. It's almost like they heard me cause that's exactly what they did. No, it's not because they heard me! They too just knew that it needed a little something extra for radio play. And I really like the results of the "SHADOWSIDE REMIX". Yes, it is some shorter than the album version, but that extra power & drama greatly add to the final product. And the guitars are much more pronounced, especially as it comes to it's dramatic ending. Another single off the "FOOT OF THE MOUNTAIN CD"; "NOTHING IS KEEPING YOU HERE", also benefits from a Remix job, although there is nothing wrong with the album version. The Videos from those two songs plus the video for the single "FOOT OF THE MOUNTAIN" are all released on an Enhanced DELUXE VERSION of a two Disc "FOOT OF THE MOUNTAIN CD/DVD". Two Live Concert Videos are also included of the TITLE TRACK & "RIDING THE CREST". For me, "SHADOWSIDE" is classic A-ha, in the same league with "SUMMER MOVED ON" & "LIFELINES". I only wish that they would have included the 'Audio' single versions of these songs on the DELUXE issue of the CD/DVD too, as there was room for them to be included & would have made for an even better DELUXE product. Sorry we won't be hearing anymore beautiful songs from this group, but wish them the best in their retirement.
