5.0 out of 5 stars A brilliant Australian group!, December 28, 2002
This review is from: Shakaya (Audio CD)
Most people have never heard of Shakaya. It's a shame. They are very talented, have catchy, groovy songs, a awesome album and they are Australian. Simone and Naomi are the two girls who make up Shakaya. Their debut album is self-titled and contains 11 tracks. The stand out tracks are:

1. Cinderella - The girls' third (and current) single. This has a damn catchy chorus, and a very cool rap.
2. Sublime - The second release. Less annoying then some of the other songs on this CD. Cool chorus and very catchy verses and a brilliant rap.
5. Give Me Your Name - One of the catchiest bridges I've ever heard. The verses and chorus are great, too.
6. Stop Callin' Me - The slightly irritating debut single. You'll never get the chorus out of your head, so that must be a good thing.
7. Mr. DJ - Another song with a sticks-in-your-head chorus, this song also has a very cool reggae sounding rap in the middle.
8. Tell The Truth - Another funky song, with a cool chorus and great verses.
9. Never Tried - Slower then the previous song, this is sweet with a midtempo chorus.
11. He's Lookin' Fine - The token naughty song, with a great chorus and verses.

Shakaya are the kind of band that will do well overseas, they have that RnB / soul / pop sound that appeals to so many people. They are two talented girls who will go far! Go Shakaya!
