I respectfully disagree with the previous reviewer.This is a very solid album by Screamin' Jay Hawkins. I definitely recommend it for all Screamin' fans and collectors.

There's something like 66 Screamin Jay albums and 43 singles (give or take a few), and unfortunately something's got to be at the bottom of the barrel. This is just straight-up long-assed Blues numbers, with hardly any of Screamin' Jay's trademark humor. Even a shoe-in with a title like "Furburger", is an eight minute test of yer patience, with the pay off only coming after the 7 minute mark! "Tear Drops" is turned into a sluggish mumble-fest and "In My Heart" is just a sad pale imitation of his greatness. The best thing about "Live Love & Die" is the title and the smokin' guitar solo; while the lyrics kinda come and go like vague reminders of something that was once funny; and "Don't Fool With Me' is only slightly better. "Rock Australia Rock" should have been the lamest song of this set, so that the rest were fabulous... instead it's a mediocre, almost memorable repetitive tune that still won't stand up to the rest of his greats. "Cookie Time" might be the only classic from this entire theoretically awesome session with Bo Diddley on guitar! If you're a Bo Diddley fanatic...I suppose you have to get it; but Screamin' Jay fans need only pay the 99 cents for "Cookie Time" and move on. 65 others worth looking into.
