Please re-release the original, the best, 1956 version of Shake,Rattle and Rock on vhs/dvd so that humble people like me may afford it!!Don't bother watching or buying the awfully, horrific, terrible 1994 bogus version starring Renee Zellwenger,it stinks!!!Also, the video and DVD should be released in an affordable manner so that humble people like myself can afford it!!!

THE BEST ROCKINEST,SWINGIEST,BOPPIEST 50's MOVIE EVER!!!!, May 8, 2002

This review is from: Shake Rattle and Rock [VHS] (VHS Tape)
It's the Squares VS the Teenagers in this 1956 McCarthy era Rock 'n Roll Classic.Does Rock n' Roll lead to sinful corruption or salvation. That's the question that the people of an average American city must answer in SHAKE,RATTLE AND ROCK!A rousing musical comedy/drama with an appearance and featuring the eternally classic music of FATS DOMINO,JOE TURNER,ANNITA RAY and others with the heart and soul of the movie with such HIT songs like"AIN'T THAT ASHAME","HONEY CHILE"and"I'M IN LOVE AGAIN" that't will delight and entertain audiences of all generations. The character GARRY NELSON(TV'S MANNIX,MIKE CONNERS WHEN HE WAS KNOWN AS TOUCH CONNERS)is an honest, earnest TV announcer who hosts a ROCK N' ROLL dance show, and works to keep inner city kids off the streets and out of the gangs. His goal is to build the kids a permanent recreation center, though is delayed by the narrow-mindness of a few older citizens and the frenzied music that they believe leads to criminal activity.Garry and his loyal assistant AXE(STERLING HOLLOWAY),his breathtakingly beautiful fiance JUNE(LISA GAYE)and some historical footage of the roaring 20's Ragtime Jazz dancing and music of the older generation who's opposing ROCK N' ROLL leads to an overwhelming verdict of"NOT GUILTY" in a televised courtroom trial which makes this film "THE BEST ROCKINEST,SWINGEST,BOPPIEST 50's MOVIE that's very well worth watching. It's a superb classic by all means!!
