The product looked exciting and my son was eager to try it out even though he received it as a X'mas present. Unfortunately as soon as we tried it we realized it was defective, the line would not reel back in. We tried to look for instructions but nothing is available except what it is on the back of the packaging and the link to the manufacturer's web site did not provide any additional information. The one year warranty is a joke since they require you to send in $8.95 to cover shipping and handling and ship the defective part back. Given that the entire assembly cost less than that it is a pretty worthless warranty.

We got two for our 5 year old and his cousin. We only use them occasionally but they spin out nicely when cast and reel back in smoothly. They work surprisingly well for the price.

Bought this to play with my kittens. It's the perfect size for the kitten lures. Gotta say, this rod can take a lot of pull. It spins out great and has a great hold to it. I would recommend buying this for a child in a minute.

My Godson loves this fishing pole. He is only 3, so he hasn't used it to snag any fish but he plays with it at the river, and as a surprising twist...he actually gets just as much use out of it indoors taunting his kitty. Great inexpensive gift. I only gave 4 stars because I'm not sure how useful it is to actually catch fish.

My granson is thrilled with his fishing pole, and my fisherman husband is very impressed with its usefullness and performance.

I was so excited to see this item on Amazon. My grandson is asking for this for Christmas and since my daughter can't find it in stores, I saw it and got it. It's perfect for his age and size but they claim in the ad that there is supposed to be a "charachter sticker set" included. Not there. Something is missing. Now I have to go through the process of trying to call whomever is in charge of this item and get that sticker set or go find stickers at the Hallmark store. Pay attention to what is actually shipped to you vs what the ad states.

My boyfriend found this at a local store on clearance and bought it for our cat who loves it. The included fish is very bouncy which drives him nuts as he tries to catch it. The fish is also hard even though it's a rubbery material. There have been a few times were we nearly broke something or whacked the cat. The casting action is fairly smooth and instructions easy to follow. I don't know how long this would stand up to a child but for our purposes, it clearly will last quite some time.

This fishing pole was a hit.He played with it for hours. Cant wait until spring to go fishing. Great gift for a 4 year old.

Well, I was pretty excited to go fishing with my grandson during the local labor Day derby. Ordered the pole in plenty of time (1 month) but it still hasn't arrived (7 weeks later). So I am not very happy. And I had to buy a new pole for him. Not trusting this vendor.

...it doesn't come with a hook! You can't actually fish with it. My 4 and 7 year old boys loved casting in the back yard but were disappointed they couldn't take it to the pond and catch anything.
