I bought 2 of these. I used 1 on a baitcaster as directed with braided line. My buddy used his on a spinning rig with monofiliment. I know they're really not designed for use with a spinning reel, but we were just letting the line out for deep water jigging.....not casting. Neither of these manual units worked.......very inconsistent and inaccurate.
The one deluxe unit I bought(with the light) worked perfectly on the same exact baitcasting rig.
