Poor rod quality,

I actually only bought this rod from Wal-Mart. It didn't even make it one cast before the tip broke. My buddy also bought one prior to me and his tip also broke off. Just terrible quality on the rod.

Garbage - That's where this rod and reel are. I casted 3 times before the line literally started falling off the reel and tangling. After straightning it out several times and blaming myself and the line, I removed all the line and put new on. The same thing happened. I've bever seen this happen before. Don't waste your money.
