4.0 out of 5 stars Shakespeare Redone with a brilliant twist, July 28, 2006
By
This review is from: Shakespeare Redux (Paperback)
Mr. Larry Lyall captures ever essence of Master Williams poetry. He rewrites,(something that should be done) adds the polish, and then builds on his OWN vision. Is that something some one would think when reading a passage of Shakespeares sonnets and then having it translated into modern english? I would truly hope so. Mr.Lyall, thank you for seeing his work in a different light. A page turner, No. Reading one passage every night and allowing it to sink into your soul for a couple of days, Yes. Then read another Sonnet Redone and repeat the same steps. Let it sink in. The man's brilliant vision into the world of Shakespeares sonnets will have you spellbound. Read it. Appreciate it. I give it four stars instead of five for the reason that it is complicated and often times hard to see his vision. Hard to understand. Open your mind and your heart. Mr. Lyall knows his Shakespeare. He has redone it. Thank you.
