3.0 out of 5 stars Stainless titanium?, April 17, 2010

Just got these, so haven't really used them yet.
They have "Stainless" stamped on both sides, so not sure what's that all about since supposed to be titanium?
The big jaws don't close all the way, due to the little jaws already closed when you squeeze them.
Previous review says they rust, and titanium doesn't rust (the main reason I got these), so not sure about that either, but we'll see this summer.

4.0 out of 5 stars A little rust...won't stop these., October 16, 2008
This review is from: Shakespeare® Titanium Pliers (Misc.)
Accumulated a little rust around the mouth, cutters, and handles. Still operates smoothly. Began using a anti corrosive lube to keep pliers functioning as advertised. Replaced cheap lanyard with telephone cord. Considering the abuse they get from me in the salt water.... They have performed well.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not bad for the price, May 24, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

These pliers are "OK". I didn't say great, but they compete in a market of fishing pliers that carry a price tag of $150 higher. When you consider the price point, these are hard to beat. They have features that the expensive ones have, like replaceable cutter edges, but I have just a Just a couple of pointers: Keep them clean and oiled. Unlike their solid titanium counterparts, these can rust. Also, the carabiner clip is extremely "cheapy". Get a $2 stainless one and replace it, and make a better lanyard.
