This is a great rod for boat fishing in salt water. Not too long and give exceptional leaverage when fighting large fish. I hooked a 90lb bull shark and had no problems fighting it with this rod.

The only Medium/Heavy Ugly Stik Tiger Casting rod is a 1-piece rod.

Pay close attention to the number on this rod: BWC2201270. It is a MEDIUM and handles 10 to 50 pound test line and 1/2 to 6 ounce lure or sinker weight.

An actual Medium/Heavy Ugly Stik Tiger rod is available in 1-piece only and handles 20 to 60 pound test line and 3/4 to 8 ounce lure or sinker weight.

I have 2 Ugly Sik Tiger Medium 2-piece casting rods and they are workhorses, but the Medium/Heavy 1-piece Ugly Stik Tiger casting rods are even tougher!

Rod handle is like a baseball bat it's so thick...not for those with small hands!

I did some research as to what type of rod to get for catfishing and this rod is always mentioned. It seems to be very sturdy and I'm sure it will work well. It shipped very quickly and was well packaged.
