I am just not smart enough to read Shakespeare without Cliff"s Notes and this volume proved to be invaluable. I do confess that my usual routine is to read Cliff's Notes first and then move on to the play or the novel. This goes against the editor's suggestion that one should read the play, use the 'Notes,' and then re-read and enjoy the play.

I enjoy reading Shakespeare, but it's very difficult to grasp anything more than mere surface issues. This time, I used Cliff's Notes and thereby understood the underlying issues, the players and how the whole "a horse, a horse, my kingdom for a horse" line came about. Well worth the money I spent.

What can I say. They're Cliffs Notes. They did the job.
