Biography

Vengaboys are a Eurodance group whose bouncy hits provided the soundtrack to sunny holidays across the Mediterranean in the late 1990s.

The band was initially formed by two DJs, Danski and Delmundo, who performed live in clubs around Europe during 1992-1996. In 1996 they were joined by additional singers/dancers and the first of four successful albums was released, with the formula never varying… Read more in Amazon's Vengaboys Store

5.0 out of 5 stars Another winner from those BENELUX hitmasters, Vengaboys, March 1, 2000

I don't know what it is about those BENELUX (Belgium,Netherlands,Luxemburg) producers of the Vengaboys, but they just can't make a bad song. What is this? The 5th charttopper from my favorite Euro-dance group, the Vengaboys? The first time I heard this song, I didn't know what to make of it. It seemed much slower than any other Venga-tune, but upon a second listen it totally grew on me. Much in the same beat as "We're Going To Ibiza", but a little slower, this song just won't leave my head. Already a #2 hit in the Netherlands, the potential this song has is only beginning.

1.0 out of 5 stars Can they get any worse..., March 2, 2000

I've always stuck up for the Vengaboys when people are trashing them, but this is horrible. Changing the pace from a dance song to a pop song was a bad idea, because as a pop song this isn't even credible. In the past, they have had other artists provide outstanding remixes for the tracks, but Alice Deejay's remix is simply the instrumental of "Back In My Life" with a few notes changed.

I guess they are lowering the age of their target market, because this is far from the days of "Better World", and "Overwhelm Yourself". It would be nice if the forthcoming Platinum Album has good eurotrance songs, but I doubt it. Too bad Vengaboys have lost touch with reality, because there are great songs in their archives, and I know they can do better than this.
