1.0 out of 5 stars Can they get any worse...
I've always stuck up for the Vengaboys when people are trashing them, but this is horrible. Changing the pace from a dance song to a pop song was a bad idea, because as a pop song this isn't even credible. In the past, they have had other artists provide outstanding remixes for the tracks, but Alice Deejay's remix is simply the instrumental of "Back In My...

5.0 out of 5 stars Another winner from those BENELUX hitmasters, Vengaboys, March 1, 2000

I don't know what it is about those BENELUX (Belgium,Netherlands,Luxemburg) producers of the Vengaboys, but they just can't make a bad song. What is this? The 5th charttopper from my favorite Euro-dance group, the Vengaboys? The first time I heard this song, I didn't know what to make of it. It seemed much slower than any other Venga-tune, but upon a second listen it totally grew on me. Much in the same beat as "We're Going To Ibiza", but a little slower, this song just won't leave my head. Already a #2 hit in the Netherlands, the potential this song has is only beginning.

Changing the pace from a dance song to a pop song was a bad idea, because as a pop song this isn't even credible. In the past, they have had other artists provide outstanding remixes for the tracks, but Alice Deejay's remix is simply the instrumental of "Back In My Life" with a few notes changed.

I guess they are lowering the age of their target market, because this is far from the days of "Better World", and "Overwhelm Yourself". It would be nice if the forthcoming Platinum Album has good eurotrance songs, but I doubt it. Too bad Vengaboys have lost touch with reality, because there are great songs in their archives, and I know they can do better than this.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Vengasingle yet!!!, November 20, 2001

Though you may have heard some negative things about this song, they are not at all true!! Infact, this is one of their best songs yet!! If it is so bad, then why was it #1 in New Zealand, #2 in Netherlands, Mexico and Belgium, #3 in Germany, Australia, Switzerland, Sweden, Austria and many other countries??? The bets track is the Instrumental! I really love the music especially at the beginning, also the lyrics are ok, but I can't sing along because i am a guy.

GET THIS SONG A.S.A.P.

1.0 out of 5 stars Vengaboys, think about what you do!, July 17, 2000
This review is from: Shalala Lala (Audio CD)
Vengaboys is always saying that they want that the world takes them seriously and they will be biggest pop-band on this Earth. HOW CAN ANYONE TAKE THEM SERIOUSLY if the lyrics are like this? "Sha la la la la... Sha la la in the morning... Sha la la la la... Sha la la just for you!" Even babies listen to more grown up music than this! Don't bother! I believe that Vengaboys will soon quit singing these ridiculous songs.

1.0 out of 5 stars Truly horrid!, June 16, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Shalala Lala (Audio CD)
I used to like the Vengaboys, I still do like some of their older songs but what's this supposed to be? It's not a case of lack of talent from the Vengaboys themsleves, it's just a case of it sounding plain shite. There's almost no beat to it, it's terribly slow and seeing the lead singer Kim singing something like this now almost makes me cry. If you thought "We're Going To Ibiza" was a bad Vengaboys song, just wait till you here this. On the plus side, the Alice Deejay Mix and "48 Hours" aren't bad, but you're not going to care because they're on one of the worst CD singles for a long time. Do yourself a favour and stay well away from this trash!
