3.0 out of 5 stars Great music, but the soundtrack is missing key songs
I hate when movie soundtracks leave off the best songs from the movie, so here are all the songs from the movie in order. Hope it helps.

P.S. That song that is playing when he is dancing with the ugly chicks at the club is "too young" by phoenix

This is a good soundtrack! However..There are two songs missing that kept me from buying it. The song towards the beginning, when Hal is in the night club dancing with the three beautiful girls(in his view)is titled "Too young" and it is by the group Phoenix, can be found on the album "United". The song played while the credits are rolling, right after the song "love grows where my rosemary goes"..is titled "Comfort Eagle" by the group Cake, can be found on the album with the same name as the song. All this of course can be figured out if you watch the song credits and have counted the songs from the beginning, but I thought to make it a bit easier on all of you out there =0). The soft melodic tunes played off and on a few times during the movie are by a group called "Ivy" and can be found here too..check out the album titled "Long Distance". Otherwise, I would have purchased this one.

2.0 out of 5 stars once again,songs are missing....., November 26, 2001

this soundtrack follows the same ANNOYING
tradition as cds like Bring it on.
the cd lacks some important songs
that were in the movie.
Some easy to find songs from sheryl
crow,neil young and edison lighthouse
are there but what about the tracks from
ivy?there isnt any here. What about that
song in the dance club when hal dances
with 3 girls?not here.What about that
song towards the end when hal goes to
the house in a car?not here.
Some of the songs on this cd simply
dont hold up alot without the company
of the images of the movie.
Filmmakers should learn to avoid putting
songs in a movie which that cant seem to
be able to put on a cd.

3.0 out of 5 stars Top tunes in the film, but where are they now?, November 17, 2002
This review is from: Shallow Hal (Audio CD)
The soundtrack still has some great tracks from the likes of Sheryl Crow and PJ Harvey, however the CD lacks some of my preferred tunes, King of Convenience's 'Toxic Girl' (when Hals sees Rose for the first time) and the excellent French disco tune 'Too Young' by Phoenix (when Hal is dancing with the three ugly girls).

Great film! - good soundtrack but you may still find yourself searching for your favourites in the credits.

2.0 out of 5 stars Don't Bother, September 30, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Shallow Hal (Audio CD)
I noticed several others before me were looking for the same song as I was when I purchased this CD. In my opinion, it was the best song in the movie which did not end up on the soundtrack. The name of the song is "Comfort Eagle" and the group is Cake. This is the 2nd to last song where Hal is driving to the house, and it also ends up in its entirety during the credits. The rest of the soundtrack is forgettable.

(...) The name of the song the fat Hawaiian is playing is "Never Forget Where I'm From." It's good. I don't know if you can actually get a copy of him singing it though; he was good too. This song also appears on "The Very Best Of: Justin" and "Hawaiian style 2" -both are searchable right here on AMAZON.com

3.0 out of 5 stars Great Soundtrack, worth it for Phoenix alone!, February 4, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Shallow Hal (Audio CD)
The film has a fantastic soundtrack, just a shame some are missed off the CD, french band Phoenix's song Too young is missing in the part of the film, where Hal is dancing with the 3 girls, although another great song by them, summer days is still on there. Some other great songs are missing which is a shame like cake. Overall this cd is average, as some songs are mised off probably better to buy it on dvd, and buy the phoenix album, united as it is class

By
Dave (Sydney, NSW Australia) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Shallow Hal (Audio CD)
Why is there no Ivy songs on this cd. Yet again I am burnt by a soundtrack that doesn't contain any of the score music.
This film had one of the best scores I've ever heard and yet there is not a whif of it on the cd.
Instead I get songs by 'Neil Young' and 'The Foundations' good artist's, but not what I wanted. The Cake song 'Comfort Eagle' was used twice in the film and doesn't even appear once on the cd. To add insult to my wallets injury, in Cakes place we get a track that wasn't even in the film. .... ....

2.0 out of 5 stars Emilio - the song played in the cab scene ..., April 5, 2004
This review is from: Shallow Hal (Audio CD)
When Hal's in the cab with the girl, the song playing is called "Edge of the Ocean" by Ivy. I really liked it too. If you like that song then you'll LOVE "Fade into You" by Mazzy Star.

Your Welcome !!! ;-)
