Every recipe I tried was perfect!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Shalom on the Range (Spiral-bound)
The recipes were submitted by residents of the Denver metro area and were tried three times by testing committees before decision was made to put them in Shalom on the Range. Many traditional Jewish recipes, Southwestern cuisine and good American dishes. All are made with kosher ingredients and specify whether meat or dairy.

I've tried many of these recipes for my family and relatives. With no exceptions we've been pleased with the all the results. A definite must for any Jewish cookbook collection.

I love this cookbook but I lost it when I redid our kitchen. So glad to have it back in my collection. My family adores Tante's Brisket from this cookbook.

Handsome, ring-bound book with glossy pictorial covers. 310 pp, two-tone illustrations. Index.
First printing is from 1997. Over 350 kitchen-tested recipes. High altitude baking, Jewish holiday menus, everyday kosher foods, appetizers, brunch, lower fat substitutions, and a special Passover section.

Excellent collection,

My aunt gifted me this book and I love it! I have many Jewish family members but am not familiar with their recipes. This book includes many traditional kosher dishes but also mainstream ones -- and all are reliably delicious. Has one of the best banana bread recipes (with rum) ever, it has become one of my signature dishes. Also helpful if you need to avoid dairy, eggs for nutritional reasons.

A friend of mine sang the praises of this book. Since I already have about 100 cook books I certainly didn't need another, but I was intrigued. I searched on line and found it was out of print, so I tried Amazon. Waalaa!! I found it available, reasonably priced, and had it at my door within days. I baked three recipes from the book for a dinner party that weekend, and all three were perfection!!
An outstanding cook book; an outstanding transaction. |
