5.0 out of 5 stars Great Fun with immersion, music, & humor, December 24, 2005
This review is from: Shalom Sesame Show 11: Kids Sing Israel [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This video is a lot of fun to watch for children & adults. Most likely, the music will bring you back to your childhood if you are Israeli. You can almost feel the innocence flood back...the feeling of truly being a child.

There are classic Israeli songs on this tape like "Maim, maim v'sason" that are presented in such a way that makes you want to dance & sing. The humor provided by Shalom Sesame is present once again (as in the Shalom Sesame Aleph Bet Telethon movie, which is wonderful) making the movie a pleasure to watch. If you want your child exposed to different cultures, this movie is great. Also, if you have a Jewish child whom you want to immerse in Israeli culture, this is a wonderful movie to watch.

The only real flaw of this movie is that it does not translate most of the hebrew that is sung and spoken which can lead to some gaps in understanding (specifically for younger children). One specific part of the movie that demonstrates this is when a very catchy song ("Yesh lee shte' yada-eem") is not translated and it is introducing parts of the body and their function. It would have benefited the viewer more if the song had been translated either before or after it was presented in hebrew.
Also, this movie (along with the rest of this wonderful series) is outdated. Overall though, this is an excellent & fun cultural immersion video & I would highly recommend buying it.

Guest stars of this movie include Sarah Jessica Parker & B.B. King.
