Great volume of a sorely underestimated series.,

This review is from: Shaman King, Vol. 4 (Paperback)
For those who have read Shaman King up to this point, they know that it is a highly entertaining story with adorable, exaggerated, unique characters, edgy art, and even pinches of drama and the macabre. If Shaman King is new to you, then you will still love this volume. Just be sure to read the first couple pages for a brief overview of the previous chapters.
I love this volume because (I believe) it is the first in which Anna, the overbearing fiancee of our eternally laid-back hero, Yoh, really shows how much she loves Yoh (and gets jealous at the idea of him being unfaithful, though I will not reveal that hilarious scenario). The volume focuses on the fight that Yoh must face with his spirit, Amidamaru, to get into the Shaman Tournament, but he also faces a trial against Japanese Ainu shaman Horohoro in the end. There are more volumes, check those out too! I hope that everybody tries to get into Shaman King at one point or another. It is thought-provoking and also completely humourous, too. Highly, highly recommended. |
