This volume has a number of essays that are a cut above the ususal "shlock". Thoughtful and well-reasoned perspectives are shared by such noted authors as Michael Harner and Joan Halifax, among others. The different perspectives lend a broad view to the many facets of this dimly perceived art and science that is called "Shamanism.
