I have the Gordons other native/world albums like Sacred Earth Drums, Drum Medicine and Drum Prayer. This one is just as gorgeous as those but it has longer songs which creates more of a peaceful trance soundscape. I use it for yoga and relaxing at the end of the day. The Gordons are absolutely the finest world fusion artists. Highest Recommendation!

As a long time healer and practitioner of cross-cultural shamanism I must say that I am once again incredibly impressed with this latest release from David & Steve Gordon. This is their first all new release in over 6 years, since their profoundly inspirational "Drum Medicine" was released in 1999. And this title clearly shows the Gordon's have been hard at work, delving deeply into the fertile realms of the subconscious in order to unearth the Great Spirit that lies within. They have created a uniquely indelible synthesis of the Shamanic experience through the four worlds of the Native American cultures; within these four distinct tracks that penetrate into an entrancing exploration of these inner realms. Yet this is no mere Native American release; this is pure musical alchemy - deftly blending music and voices of indigenous shamanic cultures from around the globe. The Brothers skillfully bring together tribal drums, native flutes, crystal bowls and other instruments and rhythms from around the world with anceint Lakota, Aboriginal, Buddhist, Mayan and Sanskrit chants. The result is a soothing, trance inducing mix in four 18 minute movements that have to be heard and experienced to be fully appreciated. This title is great for meditation, healing and inner visioning work. Put your headphones on and slip blissfully into other worlds.

I'm a massage therapist and used this CD for 2 weeks without tiring of it.(I didn't play any other) I also use it for meditation, it's perfect. I really love this CD. I have 3 other discs of the Gordon brothers and this is by far my favorite.

Wasn't sure about this one till I put it on. SO HAPPY WITH IT! The artists have done a great job pulling in so many sounds to still create a soothing and soulful mix. I also think the lengths of each track are great for meditation or massage. Another album that I am loving is Drum Medicine by the same artists.

The music on this CD is very soothing and very relaxing. I bought this CD and decided to play it in my car and make it a sacred place so to speak. On the fourth day after having this CD play in my car I was running late taking my daughter to an appointment. A car changed into my lane without looking back causing me to slam on my brakes or rear end that car. With my brakes fully locked I went into a skid but was able to remain calm and correct the wheel but could not stop. In mere seconds I was beside this car and was just about to complete the collision (we've all been there where you think this is it, I'm going to hit this person and I've done all I can do) when at the very last moment before we were going to impact he was able to move over more into the next lane. This allowed me to complete my stop. This could very well have been a serious accident if someone above had not looked out for all of us involved. So I would say to everyone..while you should not meditate in your car of course (that would be silly) don't forget to say a prayer of protection during daily travels. Listening to this CD in your car is not a bad idea turned out to be for me my saving grace I think.

Peaceful, powerful, beautiful, tranformational, transportive. This CD is almost worn out I play it so often. I journey nearly every day in my personal spiritual practice to this CD and play it before and during experiential shamanic classes that I teach. As a shamanic practitioner, teacher and author of several books on shamanism and energy healing, Seeing in the Dark: Claim Your Own Shamanic Power Now and in the Coming Age, Energy for Life: Connect with the Source (Next Step), and Inner Power: Six Techniques for Increased Energy & Self-Healing I have a deep appreciation for music such as this that can aid us in transforming our minds, bodies and lives. I love all of the Gordon's CD's and this one is my favorite.

Guys, This is a wonderful CD for yoga, meditation, accupunture and massage sessions. IT is so very soothing, this cd takes you on mental journeys, but always to a peaceful joyous place, you open your eyes (if they were closed) energetic and filled with LIGHT. Or you sit in a relaxed state of mind, opening your chakra centers. (my expereince) quite chakra cleansing. I recommend this CD. Great arrangement on CD, great sounds. Thanks gentlemen.

I can't add much to the positive reviews already posted. The blends of drums, flutes, rattles, etc. are relaxing yet, at the same time, very enlivening. Great for long walks, relaxing, or meditation. I think I'm getting hooked on it.
