Suzanne Forster CAN tell a good story!,
By
This review is from: Shameless (Paperback)
This title is good...it's incredibly sensual, almost from the first page. It's the classic challenge to turn our heart's desire into something that is ultimately good for our soul, spelled out in complete detail. Powerful writing...Very high-running emotions and in-your-face (translate: Shameless!) characters bombard the reader until the last page of this compelling story is turned, much to my amusement. Once I began reading it, I couldn't put it down; it was a memorable experience. I bought this book on a whim, and I'm glad I did. Suzanne Forster can indeed tell a good story. Henceforth, I am officially on the hunt for more of her titles.

NOT ONE OF MS. FORSTER'S BETTER WORKS!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Shameless (Paperback)
I think Jessie's kinda sick bec. she got 'hot' whenever Luc threatened/insulted/forced her. As far as I'm concerned, there was ONLY ONE LOVE SCENE in the whole book; the rest was just barely short of rape. Also, the author's obsession with anything Italian (i.e., Jessie's daughter and the Italian nanny talked in Italian way too much, and her emphasis on Italian rootwords like 'insolente') muddled the story. (I mean, I didn't buy this book to pick up some Italian!)I recommend Nora Roberts for those who prefer gritty, sensual, captivating romance.

Who killed Hank Flood and who's sleeping with whom now?..,
This review is from: Shameless (Paperback)
Think of a Jackie Collins book...would you consider her a romance novelist ( I do not, she's more of a main stream fiction)? This book reads like one of her books, worst version at that.
Since I bought this book expecting a -romance- novel, I honestly didn't like it. At all. How could you get into a romance novel when every single character (except for the daughter) was unlikeable? Could you? So this is why I gave this book a poor rating.... However, in all honestly, if you wanted to read a soap opera fiction, this is an OK read..maybe 3 stars. Plot: Other reviews/blurb is really vague, some info from here on might contain a SPOILER, please be aware: Jessie Flood and her family are known as the town white trash. Luc is the abused and mistreated son of the wealthiest family in her town. They become friends in childhood, closeness and friendship turning into love... until Luc betrays Jessie with her more beautiful, older sister. One night, her step-father Hank Flood is murdered, her sister breaks Luc's heart, and something terrible happens to Jessie.... When the book starts, it's 10 years after, and Jessie's a widow ( she married Luc's father), and they're all about to come together for the reading of the will..... The story revolves around....What went on that night... Why did Jessie betray Luc, who murdered Hank Flood, is Luc still obsessively in love with her sister? Who's the father and the mother of Mel (the daughter).... All I can say as a romance novel fan... too many things that went on in this book I found disgusting... The HEA...well, lets just say, it wasn't very believable.

This review is from: Shameless (Hardcover)
Description from the book dust jacket:
When the good citizens of Half Moon Bay, California, whispered of scandals and sex, the name on their lips was Jessie Flood ... They said she was common as dirt, but why did a multi-millionaire ask her to marry him? They said she had a child whose true father remained a mystery. Now she's newly widowed, set for life with a vast inheritance. But her past is shrouded in secrets. Until Luc Warnecke comes back into her world ... For years, Luc and Jessie were bound by love and lies, hatred and betrayal. But even as they face each other as dire enemies, they cannot deny the powerful hunger that has always driven them together. Now Luc is back to get what Jessie owes him: The truth about her past. Cold cash. And hot, sensual passion. They're all the sweetest revenge. And they're all positively ... shameless.
