This a wonderful CD of sexy, smooth and stylish jazz from a women with an amazing voice. Shane makes these old standards sound fresh and new and has a very unique style all her own. My absolute personal favorite is "My Foolish Heart", which I think is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. All of the songs are great though and the musicians on this album sound superb as well. If you like female jazz singers, this is definitely one for your collection!

Okay, so Shane's a pal o' mine, one of the sweetest most generous gals around. I still think this album is luxurious, easy to listen to and richly rewarding. Her careful choice of material, excellent arrangements, lush orchestrations, and of course her velvety voice wins this CD a permanent place in my collection.

Thanks, Amazon. I would never have bought this cd had it not been for listening to tracks on line. But I'm sure glad I got it. Ms. Kelly has an outstanding voice and is backed by an excellent group of musicians playing interesting and unusual arrangements of standards. I buy around 2 dozen jazz cd's a year, mostly vocals, and this is one of the best.

I see Larry Flick just reviewed her CD - June 23 issue (Billboard)- "Boasting a voice that fondly recalls, Sarah Vaughan, Shirley Bassey and Carmen McRae..." I completed agree - Furthermore, she clearly has a strong crossover appeal. I have a feeling we will be seeing much more of this artist very soon. My personal favorites...Track 2 "Ten Minutes Ago" and Track 9 "Come By Sunday".

Where the hell did SHE come from! I can't believe this is her first CD - is VERVE totally unconscious, or what!!! Among Shane's artfully selected playlist, all beautifully done, are titles that have never been sung better: The Look of Love, But Beautiful and My Foolish Heart. I hear she's performing at Petaluma's Summer Jazz Festival in August. We plan to be there! I think she has other performances in CA this year. Check the website.
