5.0 out of 5 stars Minor is Major!!
Shane Minor, who could very well be the new "male sex symbol" of country music, has earned five stars in my book for his self-titled debut album!! Shane presents a great mix of upbeat tunes and ballads, although I like his faster stuff better. "Slave to the Habit" is such a catchy song, that you are singing along to by the second chorus, and you...

2.0 out of 5 stars Shane Minior
This album has only one really good song. He need to put more country in his music and not try to change country. We (the fans)know what we want and artist need to learn they aren't going to change what we like.

Shane Minor, who could very well be the new "male sex symbol" of country music, has earned five stars in my book for his self-titled debut album!! Shane presents a great mix of upbeat tunes and ballads, although I like his faster stuff better. "Slave to the Habit" is such a catchy song, that you are singing along to by the second chorus, and you find yourself tapping your foot to. The second track, "Ordinary Love" is also pretty catchy. Other recommended tracks are "Tell Me Now", "A Girl Like That" and "True to You". The songs on this album are written by some of Nashville's best.

The bottom line is that Shane Minor is a star in the making.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Debut Album and Even Better in Concert, December 3, 1999

I saw Shane perform as the opening act for Shania Twain's concert in Richmond and really enjoyed several of his songs and his performance style. Even though he is known for his "kicky" and upbeat country tunes, I really like his ballads best -- "I Think You're Beautiful" and "Change Your Mind" are great tunes. Look forward to Shane visiting Virginia again!

I love this album. I got to see Shane in concert in Denver on November 14 and it was great. If you like country, you have to get this album. I can't wait for him to release another album.

5.0 out of 5 stars It's a bootstompin', Rockin-Rodeo of a good time, Addicting!, October 28, 1999

Shane Minor has created a timeless, work of art. If you like Country with a swift Kick in the butt, then this is the CD for you. It Rocks with the tunes of "Slave to te habit," "Too Much," and "Ordinary Love," while also pulling out the hopeless romantic in all of us with ballads like, "How many times," and "Sliver of the Moon. No filler songs included, all have potenial to put the California kid on the road to stardom...

During my very short year at a local radio station in Syracuse New York, I had the opportunity to meet many new great artist. I got to meet Shane and go on his tour bus with other radio employees. He is the greatest. He will bring the new country music to a new high. New country is the best. Best of luck Shane.

1.0 out of 5 stars Is this country?, May 20, 1999

Is Shane Minor the kind of guy who would steal your girl? It appears that way to me. Is he a bad copy of Rick Springfield, or is he a project made in the studio. Either way I think his cd is terrible. Leather pants and the video make wonder about him. Whatever as Shania would say.

3.0 out of 5 stars Another Cookie Cutter Singer, July 5, 2000
This review is from: Shane Minor (Audio CD)
I wonder how many of these generic cookie cutter singers we'll get in the next few years, and just how many of them will endure. I don't think Shane is going to be one of the lasting ones. His debut album is a sophomoric mix of uptempo tunes and heart-wrenching ballads. His big hit, "Slave to the Habit" is no different than any Tim McGraw-Kenny Chesney-George Strait song; nothing new under his sun there. I give it three stars because he has a pleasant voice and he seems to enjoy what he's doing. However, most of the songs are inane and lifeless. Try getting better writers and more creative arrangers, Shane, and you could rise above the crowded field.

Shane has an excellent voice and real star quality. He will only get better with time! It was a pleasure to watch him perform April 7 here in Modesto, where he grew up.

4.0 out of 5 stars Shane Minor is Awesome!, January 28, 2000
This review is from: Shane Minor (Audio CD)
I really liked Shane Minor's c.d. I think my favorite songs are "Slave to the Habit" and "Ordinary Love", so far the only ones i've heard on the radio. It's a great c.d. to just turn up loud and blast stereo speakers with. get this c.d. and you'll be very happy!
