5.0 out of 5 stars Jessica Harp
This soundtrack is cool just because Jessica Harp, an amazing (just signed) singer/songwriter/guitar player, sings track #1. The track listing shown on here has a typo, because it lists the Kinks as singing that song (Jessica Harp covered this song by the Kinks).

3.0 out of 5 stars Where's the score?
Where's the rest of the score? They only took a few minor tracks from Randy Edelman's score and put them in almost as an afterthought. This kinda irks me because I buy soundtracks for the scores, not the other music. While I enjoyed all the songs on the soundtrack, there's still more room on a CD for more of the score, especially music from the fight scenes.

The music in this production is exceptionally well matched to the story and I especially like the Jessica Harp version of "All Day and All of the Night", which I have only seen/heard on this CD.

This CD has a lot of different and cool songs. I love the oldies and the Kinks cover by Jessica Harp.

3.0 out of 5 stars Where's the closer?, February 9, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Shanghai Knights (Audio CD)
This flick had decent tunes- but the best thing was the take on Ray Davies' "All Day and All of the Night" that accompanied the closing credits. Great vocals, crashing feedback-ridden electric guitar- and I don't see it on the track listing! It was by someone named Jessica Harp. I can't find any albums by her (them?). Bummer!

4.0 out of 5 stars Info on Jessica, April 7, 2003
By
This review is from: Shanghai Knights (Audio CD)
Hey... just wanted to let everyone know that Jessica is an indie artist who I've kept an eye on for the past couple of years. She's toured with Michelle Branch, (she even appeared in the background with Branch's band on a episode of Charmed this season.) I understand that she's in the early stages of a record deal, and I say it's about time! She has a great voice, one that melds well with the current set of Branch/Avril Lavigne/Vanessa Carlton singers out, but her voice has more maturity, like that of Jewel or Melissa Etheridge.

You can go to jessicaharp.net, to get more info. She also has an indie album titled 'Preface' that's pretty good, and available to buy at her website.

4.0 out of 5 stars Jessica Harp..., March 5, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Shanghai Knights (Audio CD)
Jessica Harp is an independent artist at the moment negotiating a deal with Elektra Records. She is a singer/songwriter of rock/folk/pop music and plays the guitar. She has an amazing voice with great vocal range. Her songs range from love ballad's to some more rockier edge tunes. She's great! I give her a 5!

2.0 out of 5 stars Music critic in the making, March 1, 2003

I read the other two reviews on this soundtrack and had to agree with them. I also wondered who this Jessica Harp is? I can't find anything on her, but I did like her sound and the cover of kinks during the credits of the film. Speak up if you know something I don't.
