5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Album
Once again, Shanice has delivered a beautiful work of art on this CD...Her particularly strong ballads are Yesterday, Fly Away and A reason...And in terms of style she is able to pull off a great job on the uptempo songs (Doin' My Thang and You Need A Man) as well...She is able to effortlessly display her vocal range, thus, she has the vocal capability and maturity to...

3.0 out of 5 stars Shanice
Shanice's self-titled 4th CD is a good one. The overall tracklist is pretty good. The album contains mostly mid-tempo songs. However, this woman has one of the best voice's the music industry has ever seen! She is very under-rated and deserves more attention. She can sing better than 90-95% of the female singers out today. I think anyone reading this should give her a...

I am a huge R&B fan, I love good slow songs, fast sexy songs, and dance songs and all that good stuff that comes along with an R&B Cd....this CD give all that to ya!!!!!! My girl can sang. The high notes she can hit are bomb, the slow songs are too tight (Yesterday, A reason, no remedies), fast songs and all are really, really, really good. A MUST HAVE FOR ANYONE WHO WANTS GOOD R&B MUSIC!!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Original Princess of R&B, January 10, 2006

Shanice is singer that has seniority in the game really put it down on this album. She released this album when artist like Tracie Spencer, TLC and Whitney where all making a comeback for the millenium and she shined just as well as they did. When I first saw her video for "When I Close My Eyes'" with fashion model Will Lemay I was so glad 2 see her back in the game. This CD is so tight "Doin My Thing" is my favorite and when she sings "You Need A Man" her voice hits notes out of this world she is another favorite artist of mine and when her new cd "Every Womans Dreams" drops trust me I will be there to cop that 2.

5.0 out of 5 stars World's best singer!, December 4, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Shanice (Audio CD)
I always knew Shanice could sing after hearing her album Inner child. This 4th album has been long awaited. She came back better than ever, and even more gorgeous. My only complaint is that I wish there had been a few more songs included. The more Shanice, the better! Best songs on here are: "Yesterday," "Wanna Fall For You," "Ain't Got No Remedy," and the beautiful "Fly Like An Angel." She sings each song so beautifully. No song on here is a disappointment! If you've never heard of Shanice before, then do yourself a favor and pick up her CD today and discover her for yourself and be amazed! This is a must have.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the most talented female vocalists of our time, January 14, 2002

This album is superb. The Shanice/LaFace collabo worked. I just wish that this album would have gone further. All of the tracks are beautifully written and delivered. Shanice's greatest album has yet to be released. I look forward to hearing more from Mrs. Flex Alexander in the near future.

(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Shanice (Audio CD)
I decided to buy Shanice's CD out of one of those "spur of themoment to buy a CD" times. However, I was surprised once I listened to it. Shanice has always had crucial vocal skills and range but this album shows if off at a higher level. I was impressed how eclectic the arrangement of songs were. From her slow tempo ballads to her fast tempo rythmic, hip songs she flowed nsync with each song. The songs themselves are both taste from earlier, or "real", R&B sounds and contemporary R&B. This CD is the kind that sound better the more and more you listen to it. Shanice is definitely represents real R&B from the female perspective and talent.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice album, April 22, 2000
By
This review is from: Shanice (Audio CD)
I just came back to write a better review of this album.

Shanice came back with a more maturer singing voice. On this album she shows she has matured when she was gone. I wouldn't say this album is Da Bomb, but it's nice. For some reason, the first track "You Need a Man" was released as single but never as a video. The second song on the album, "When I Close My Eyes" was Shanice's comeback. "Yesterday" is a nice ballad. "Wanna Hear You Say" has nice beat.

Alot of the songs on this album resemble "Fly Away". "Don't Fight It" is tight. "Ain't Got No Remedy" is alright. shanice is doing her thang in "Doin' My Thang". "Fall For You" is a beautiful song. It reminds of of my love life. Shanice is male bashing in "You Can Bounce". "Somebody Else" is like any other R&B song. "A Reason" has a long musical intro. N-E-Wayz, Shanice is my favorite singer. I hope she becomes more successful in life.

4.0 out of 5 stars Underrated Shanice has the power to stand with the best, November 5, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Shanice (Audio CD)
Although this album peaked at #56 on Billboard and she had a Top 15 hit with "When I Close My Eyes", Shanice remains underestimated and has for years. Her fourth album 'Shanice' is one smooth sail through R&B/Hip-Hop Soul waters from top to bottom, with nothing too fast, binded together by Shanice's bold and full voice and personality. The rainy first cut "You Need A Man" (co-written by Montel Jordan) is the highlight; Shanice pleads with a woman to keep away from her man. Other strong points include the Babyface ballad "Fly Away" (where she demonstrates that her vocal abilities are up there in Mariah Carey's league), "Somebody Else" and "You Can Bounce". Shanice is not just a vocalist or a diva, she shows a great deal of attention to her music and one would hope it won't be too long before the next.
