About the Actor

In 1937 at the age of 7 years old, Arthur Yau Sun Lee got his first taste of the martial arts at the Jing Moo Chinese Physical Culture Association in Honolulu, Hawaii..  Being tutored by his first teacher, Professor Lau Yeu Cho, he learned one of the well-recognized styles in the Shaolin system, Hung Gar Kuen.  In 1939, with the consent of Professor Lau, he started to train under the tutelage of Lum Dai Yong in a new form of martial arts, Sil Lum Fut Ga Kuen.  Because of the dedication of Arthur Lee to the school, the Gee Yung Physical Culture was passed on to him after the passing of Sifu Lum in 1957.

Grandmaster Lee has participated in numerous seminars throughout the States to try and perpetuate his teacher's art to the American public.  Throughout his years he has been featured in numerous martial arts publications and has produced instructional videos.  Having his students wins numerous forms and fighting championships worldwide has brought recognition to the art.  Grandmaster Lee takes constant trips to mainland China to improve his own knowledge of the Chinese martial arts.  He was recognized and appointed to the Jiang Su Wu Shu Academy.

With 60 years and counting Grandmaster Lee continues to strive and perpetuate his teacher's art and philosophy worldwide.  With that in mind, he is in good hands with his son Harlan Dai Tong Lee and grandchild Brandon Jett Gum Lung Lee to carry on the heritage.

Product Description

Saholin Buddas Fist (Sil Lum Fut Ga Kuen) is a style of kung fu developed during China's Ming Dynasty, which ruled during the 17th century.  The art was founded and developed by a Buddhist monk using techniques from the five great masters of the Shaolin temple: Lau, Lee, Mok, Hung and Choy.

Saholin Buddas Fists fundamental principle is based on the idea that one's ultimate striking power is generated by the velocity of the blow and the practitioner's mabu (horse stance) or foundation.  With a solid foundation, the Buddas Fist practitioner, through his horse stance, produces the highest degree of force behind every block or strike.  In addition, the efficient techniques are designed to stress speed and quickness in the execution of each individual move.  The combination of optimum force and velocity creates this ultimate power.

Saholin Buddas Fist - Fighting Techniques is tape 2 of a 3 volumes DVD series demonstrated by Grandmaster Arthur Lee and Master Harlan Lee. It is featuring a step-by-step demonstration of the basic fighting principle strike in threes and how to execute combination blocks & kicks. Also includes a brief history of Sil Lum Fut Ga Kuen and Grandmaster Arthur Lee.
