Stellar Soul Compilation (thank you RZA!),

This soul compilation album is brilliant. Every track is excellent. It's more than just "samples"... these tracks aren't throw-aways except for a great drum break. This entire album speaks to you and will inspire. The New Birth, Syl Johnson, and Donny Hathaway are great artists and worth exploring. Buy this I promise you it will be worth it.

OK I admit it I was a Wu-Tang hater. When the 1st album dropped (Enter The 36 Chambers). I purchased the tape listened to it then literally through it out my car door window while cruising down the boulevard. I did not get it. It was one of those situations where everyone was telling me how good the album was and me just not "getting" it. I did not jump on board of the Wu-Tang wagon until Raekwon's Only Built For A Cuban Linx featuring Ghostface Killah who would incidentally become one of my favorite MC's. But back to the review Shaolin Soul is a great album that shows you how gifted The RZA really is. He has the ability to take a abstract sample or sounds for that matter and turn them into songs. Amazing! Enter the 36 Chambers would eventually grow on me and become on of my favorite albums. The soundscapes RZA created on that album was so ahead of it's time that it was hard for me to understand then.
