BPM too high for aerobic classes,
By Katie Leaverton (Grandview, WA United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Shape Fitness Music - Cardio 2: Pure Rock (Audio CD)
Although the music is fun and energetic, it is not really suitable for a step or cardio kickboxing class. If you are relying on BPM to count out moves, the pace of this CD averages about 140-145 which is generally too fast to perform moves without the risk of injury. On the other hand the sound is very motivating and energetic (if you are in to '70's hits) and works well as background music for an individual workout.

Excellent Motivator,

I have 4 of the Shape exercise cassette tapes, and I think that this is the best with Walk 3 - a close second. It's great for powerwalking and running! I highly recommend the Shape series tapes for motivation!

People need to know the pace of this one,
By Still_Marilynn "Marilynn Randall" (Northville, MI United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Shape Fitness Music - Cardio 2: Pure Rock (Audio CD)
The first song starts at a fast 134 beats per minute rate. Ultimately, the pace quickens to 156 beats per minute. This is much to fast for most people out of their teens.

When I popped this cd in for the first time, I was completely motivated to forget walking and start running! The 80's music (original artists, which is key) took me back and got me jamming! I love this cd!

The hour of exercising flies by,
By MMB (Columbus, OH USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Shape Fitness Music - Cardio 2: Pure Rock (Audio CD)
This CD is great. I find that when I don't want to exercise I put the CD in and start riding my bike and before I know it the entire hour has gone by. It keeps me moving and the faster songs are great to step up my pace a little.

I JUST WANT TO STOP,
By A Customer
This review is from: Shape Fitness Music - Cardio 2: Pure Rock (Audio CD)
I PURCHASED SHAPES: WALK 2, WALK 1, AND CARDIO 2. THE SAMPLE SONGS IN CARDIO 2 SOUNDED PRETTY GOOD, AND I NEEDED A FASTER PACE CD SO I ORDERED THE CARDIO 2. WHILE I ENJOY USING THE WALK 2 SOMETIMES I WOULD LIKE TO GO LONGER THAN AN HOUR. SO I PUT ON THE CARDIO 2 CD AND BY THE TIME THE FOURTH SONG IS ON I CAN'T WAIT TO STOP MY WORKOUT. IT'S SO DISAPPOINTING TO THROW MONEY DOWN THE DRAIN. DISAPPOINTED IN LOS GATOS,CA

Good music,

The music on this CD is a great one for running. The bpm are a little slow in the beginning if you run at a 12 minute mile to start, but once you get to the middle and if you are at a 10 minute mile, the bpms are great.

Adrenaline pumping,
By A Customer

This is an excellent motivator for running if you have it in cassette form. I have not found a CD player that does not skip while I am running with it either hand held or on a belt. It may work with a portable CD player on a treadmill if the CD player is not attached to any part of you or the treadmill. I would suggest making a cassette recording of it for portable use, otherwise learn to walk faster. The jostling of running on a treadmill or the street while running, jogging with a portable CD player causes a CD player to skip. Ron

Poorly Recorded Music,

I really like the songs on this album as MUSIC but not as workout music. The recording is very poorly done and, if you can't adjust the balance and volume when this music comes on, you won't be able to hear. I tried porting over to my MP3 player where music is played in the order of title so the volume goes UP and Down and Up and Down whenever the MP3 player comes to a song from this CD _ I could not get the music ported over even with a good equalizer and line balancing. The music from the artists is original, which is nice but as I said, this is a much better cd for general listening. I read the reviews and did NOT go with the suggestions so it is my fault that this CD is not going to work as intended.

My husband actually enjoys this c.d. more than I do. I was an 80's teen but I guess I listened to more new wave music than he did. If you liked these songs then, then you'll love to work out to them now! I would definetly recommend the quality of the c.d. and how upbeat and quick the music is for working out!!
