I love these pants. The spandex gives a bit of shape and tone to even the most untoned body. They have a modern look without being overly teenagish,and are comfortable to wear.

In terms of sizing they run a bit small. I wear a size 18-20 in pants but with these I am most comfortable in a 3X.

I wish Newport News would release more plus sized Shape Fx products.especially with lighter weight materials for summer.

I don't get it.. In the picture you see these worn like pants, with heels and dressy tops. And the description tells you that they are shape fx - push up and controlling. What I got was a pair of black flared leggings. I turned them inside out to check if they have some sort of lining, a double layer, a control top, I mean.. something that gives some shaping. But no, they are a thin, single layer of lycra, therefore a simple legging. Maybe if you wear some spanx or shaper under them they could look better, or maybe if you have a model's body. But if you're like me, with chunky thighs, a little "hippy", a curvy butt.. these leggings don't do anything. And I got them in medium, I weigh 150lbs. so It's not like I'm huge or anything. And another thing.. in the pictures you don't see that the lycra has a sheen to it, especially if you catch sunlight or at night. They give you a shiny line on your thighs, and I don't know about the other reviewers'opinions, but this is not good! How can you pretend to be wearing fitted "pants"? People will tell you're wearing lycra. And in my opinion, if you're going to wear a legging, you should wear it with a loose top or a tunic, but not with regular tops. These are not pants!! Bottom line : They are thin, revealing, shiny, overpriced leggings. The only reason I'm giving them 2 stars instead of 1, it's because of the bootcut/flared hem.. which is unusual to find.

where do I start? these took 3 weeks to arrive. these are amazingly unflattering - they smash your butt down in a strange way - they come up really high on the waist and they just do not fit right. I should have sent them back , but I was too lazy. donated them.

These are great for work IF you know how to pair them with a professional top, the right accessories, hair & makeup. But after several washings, they shouldn't be worn to the office. The material should be a little higher quality/sturdy for longer-term use for the office. All the sizes need an option for a slightly longer inseam for those of us who are taller. Even the "Talls" have a short inseam for me, and I'm not overly tall. C'mon ShapeFx, a little higher quality material and a little bit more material at the bottom for length. This product is ALMOST perfect. Either ShapeFx needs to "woman up" with a slight improvement on this product, or someone else will come along and beat them at their own game. Do some companies "hold back" on the quality of their product in order to leave room for the "new, improved models" down the road? Probably. Is that moral? No. Will they pay in the end? Yes.

A gal friend loaned me a pair,and said,"you'll LIVE in these things!" She was right,nearly,so I bought her and me new pairs and I'm still thrilled. Only drawback is no pockets-a small inside pocket for a couple bucks would be nice,also,a small patch at the crotch to prevent 'Camel toes' would help, otherwise one must wear a thong to prevent that look. They're so flexible and comfy, and they go out to dinner or the gym in one handy pant!To her credit, I call them 'Marcie Pants' Thanks Marcie!

These are so comfortable. I own 3 pairs and wear them all the time. They smooth out everything and make you look much slimmer.

I bought a pair of petite black several years ago. I wore them to walk in and alternated them w/ other leggings for yoga. In colder weather I would wear them w/ a longer jacket to run errands. After several years, they are still wearable but now I just wear them to work out in. There has never been any pilling and the color has slightly faded. I just bought 2 more pairs on sale. I hope the quality has not gone downhill like most things these days. They are comfortable and slim your thighs!

I have to agree with Amanda in that these leggings, while nice initially, don't stand up to very many washings. I am fastidious about sorting, turning inside out, and washing my dark fabrics in cold water. Furthermore, I line dry most everything I own to prevent shrinkage. Despite these efforts, I'm not well-pleased with the color fading and pilling that's starting to appear after only 2 washings. I like that they are made of opaque jersey-like material, a nice alternative to the sheerness of tights, and a lot more appropriate for my age and job as an elementary school teacher. Buyer beware: if you only need to have them look nice for the first couple of outings and will be happy to just wear them around the house and to the market after that, the price may be about right.

hi, these are nice leggings, I have been wearing them as pants post partum. They don't have firm control if that's what you're looking for anything- but they do flatter your shape.
