About the Author

Internationally recognized as a Bible scholar and spiritual patriarch, Derek Prince (1915–2003) was educated as a scholar of classical languages at Eton College and Cambridge University in England, and later at Hebrew University in Israel. While serving with the British army in World War II, he began to study the Bible as a philosophical work and, as a result, experienced a life–changing encounter with Jesus Christ. Derek Prince taught and ministered on six continents for more than sixty years, imparting God's revealed truth, praying for the sick and afflicted, and sharing his prophetic insights into world events in the light of Scripture. Derek Prince begins with a thesis on Christians being the salt of the earth and concludes with the responsibilty of Christians to minister as priests and reign as kings. We minister as priests through all forms of prayer. We reign as kings as we are seated at His right hand.

The life of Derek Prince and his testimony of the effectiveness of prayer and fasting is a must read for all nations wishing to shape history as a citizen of heaven working for the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords.

This book is an excellent quick read.
Derek keeps it simple and share lots of personal experiences that verify scriptural pricipals.
If you want to experience life changes then get and read this book. I have made it part of my personal lifestyle.

Concerned about the course of our nation? Wanting to make a difference in our culture or the lives of individuals? This is the book for you.

Speaking from scripture and personal experience, Derek Prince gives examples of the types of fasting and how believers can partner with God in shaping the destinies of entire nations and people through the discipline of "going without" and spending concentrated times in prayer. Not just the work of a few "super-spiritual" individuals, fasting and prayer is something all believers are encouraged to do.

I highly recommend this book to all believers, but especially to pastors, lay leaders, missionaries and those who feel called to pray for our nation and culture.
