In this book, Susan Garrett documents the story of her agility dog, Buzz. Garrett describes the problems, the challenges, and the training techniques she used. As I read this book, I highlighted the training tips I thought I could use on my dog. Nearly every other page is highighted.

Garrett starts with puppy games. She provides training exercises and tips for every obstacle and contact. One appendix is step-by-step for shaping the weave poles.

The book is easy to read as Garrett shares the trials and tribulations of living and working with a high-energy/most-people-think-I'm-a-nut dog. The book is also an informative read for anyone who uses clicker training, regardless of the reader's interest in agility.

Susan Garrett is a phenomenal dog trainer and has been wildly successful in the sport of dog agility. This book is both an amazing story of a great agility dog and an invaluable training manual. It's rare that you can really get into the mind of one of the best dog trainers and in Shaping Success, Susan shares how she problem solves challenges and builds a solid relationship with her dogs.

The lessons learned from this book go way beyond agility and I would recommend the book for any dog owner.

I am a huge Susan Garrett fan and this book is just another reason why. Not only is it a good dog story, but it is loaded with practical agility training tips from one of the world's best trainers. Susan's talents as a trainer were really put to the test with Buzzy and she shares what she did then, and what she would do now.

I bought this book quite some time ago in a fit of enthusiasm. And for some reason it's been sitting on the shelf ever since. I think I was slightly put off by the notion of reading a long story about a difficult to train dog. Boy, was I wrong. This is one of the finest dog training/agility books I've ever read. For anyone that's tried to train an agility dog it's a fabulous source of information! And it's an enjoyable read, as well, as I finished it in one sitting. Now I'm planning on going back thru it again, highlighter in hand, as there are so many wonderful exercises and games to teach your dog. Think I'll get out my old agility dog and play some with him - - they're not just for puppies. It makes me soooo look forward to starting my next agility dog. Thank you, Susan!

This is another great source of training information that is a fun read. Susan Garrett's DVD's and Books are all excellent and provide the details to help you raise a great companion.

The information is detailed and covers a wide range of topics. It provides enough information to help the novice and the more experienced as a reference book.

This is a very helpful and easy book to get your puppy to offer behaviors. Helped me a lot in training three dogs now.
