5.0 out of 5 stars Great Addition For Any Kenny Rogers Fan
I really enjoy this ablum, and you don't have to be a KR fan specifically to like it. Each song on this is good quality and reflective of his singing style and talent; all KR! Some songs on this I never heard before listening to the album but have become songs I really enjoy to include an all time favorite for me. Highly recommend if you like Kenny and/or his style of...

3.0 out of 5 stars "Through the Years" can't be tortured.
This album came out in 1981, and was in a different mood and style than other Kenny Rogers albums. A main reason of this was that it was produced by Lionel Ritchie, as well as many of the songs being composed by him. Nine songs of the album are fair, being not good nor bad. But the real reason to buy this album is for "Through the Years." This is one of the most...

This album came out in 1981, and was in a different mood and style than other Kenny Rogers albums. A main reason of this was that it was produced by Lionel Ritchie, as well as many of the songs being composed by him. Nine songs of the album are fair, being not good nor bad. But the real reason to buy this album is for "Through the Years." This is one of the most beautiful songs that came out in the 1980's and this is the original album it came from. I also think one of the reasons this song was never #1 on the charts was because it sounds more like a gorgeous pop song, not a country song. But let's remember, it is produced by Lionel Ritchie and it came out in 1981, not 1971. Underrated, "Through the Years" is one of the best songs in the 1980's, as it obviously went with the time. This is also one of the hardest to find CD's from Kenny Rogers that is still in print. Thanks to Razor and Tie records it is in print. They deserve Kudos for that. I would buy this now. For that one song, which is the original recording of it, the album is worth it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Classic Rogers Produced by Lionel Ritchie, October 7, 2000

The meeting of these two music giants produced a remarkable bit of MOR. Yeah, it is from the 80's, and it does have some of the overproduced traits of the decade's sounds. But good music never dies, and the album is a winner.
