This review is from: The Shariyat-Ki-Sugmad Book I: Discover the Ancient Scriptures of God's Love For You (Paperback)
The Shariyat-Ki-Sugmad contains the wisdom and ecstatic knowledge of those planes of the spiritual worlds, beyond the regions of time and space. To read and study this highly inspired book will give the reader an insight into the scriptures found in the Temples of Golden Wisdom. The essence of God-knowledge is laid down in these writings. Those who follow Spirit are involved in the Shariyat-Ki-Sugmad for it is their bible, their everlasting gospel.

Shariyat - Ki - Sugmad,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Shariyat-KI-Sugmad: Book Two (Paperback)
Reading the Shariyat-Ki-Sugmad provided me with a wealth of information and knowledge that I had found in no other books. It presents a unique perspective on the spiritual history of humanity and its relationship to God and Spirit.Paul Twitchell credits it's source as coming from higher worlds. The most amazing thing about this, is that it actually lead me to explore these and gain a spiritual wisdom that goes beyond the words themselves. The book focuses on ECK(Spirit), ECK Masters and the basic teachings of Eckankar. (The modern day religious organization of Eckankar was founded in 1965 by Paul Twitchell) The intent of the book seems to be a guide that encourages the reader to read between the lines. That is where the real teachings of Eckankar seem to be revealed.

Some Eternal Truths Embedded in High Fiction,
By
This review is from: The Shariyat-Ki-Sugmad Book I: Discover the Ancient Scriptures of God's Love For You (Paperback)
Paul Twitchell was a well-read genius that started his own religion which looks like a compilation of several others. Indeed there are many sites on the net that show where Paul had 'lifted' some of his works from elsewhere. That said, I found it interesting from a sort of fictional point of view to see what such a mastermind could come up with. I found the reading of this 'sacred' scripture rather boring and repetative though. The warm side of the story is how he defines the qualities of Eck - wisdom, freedom and power. The barriers of the mind to be overcome are lust, greed, anger, attachment and vanity. Occasionally he gives some experiential insight as to why people follow orthodox religions and the mystery schools. My favorite part of this cosmology is where you can rise above these physical planes to become a co-worker with God. It reminds my of Saviors of God by Nikos Kazantzakis. Twitchell writes "The right act is the act which... brings the greatest good to the greatest number of people" is better stated by L. Ron Hubbard who finishes the thought with "greatest number of dynamics." Dynamics have to do with the survival of people, but also all life forms and this planet. I plan on reading the second in this series just for the sake of personal research. It hasn't been very fun, and I prefer the fiction of Frank Herbert in Dune or anything by Tolkein. At least they are fun! Here are some unusual statements by Twitchell that will give you a taste of the 'religion' of Eckankar. page 64 "Unless he believes in the Mahanta, has faith in the ECK, and trusts the Sugmad completely, he has spent his time worthlessly." 111 "The ECK enters the womb of a virgin... starts its unfoldment over a period of years... then the chosen one learns that he is the Living Eck Master of his times." 116 "The Living Eck Master embraces all of humanity because he is the only channel that can do so. Certainly none of the ancients could do this..." 127 "If he questions or argues with the teachers of Eck over points in the spiritual works, he has not advanced on the path. The questioner, or seeker, must learn to control his curiosity." 130 "The holy fire of Eck is principally the love of God which has taken over the person who has surrendered himself to the Living Eck Master... The word surrender may be insufficient." 148 "Whosoever passes from his own physical body shall have heavenly awards if he whispers at the time of his passing the name of the Mahanta. Should he not be conscious at the time of his death, whoever is with him can perform the rites by whispering the name of the Mahanta." 151 " The chela has security when he is accepted by the Living Eck Master. In order to understand the Living Eck Master, stop talking, stop thinking, stop analyzing him and his worldly actions, and then you will understand all things." 152 "He must have the dominating faith that to serve the cause of Eck is the only purpose of his life. There is little need to seek truth, just stop having views." 161 "Those who keep themselves far away from Eck will not succeed to the higher levels of the spiritual worlds." 163 "Whatever the Mahanta gives him in secret through the channels of the inward self, he shall keep secret and not speak of to anyone else.. those who do shall have to pay in some manner or other." 196 "He cares little for what happens to his human body... (or) if all things in his material world are taken away. If he loses everything but himself, nothing matters but the spreading of the message of Eck." 214 "The mission of the Mahanta on this earth is to stir the millions of noninitiated into revolt against all orthodox religions. Anyone who opposes the Mahanta in any of the worlds is foolish for the Eck will swiftly work in retribution." 228 "He will suffer in body and spirit the taunts and insults of life around him...reduced in social and human stature... reviled, spat upon, and hated for the spiritual light he carries with him." Two Stars - I'm feeling generous :)

Interesting,

This review is from: The Shariyat-Ki-Sugmad Book I: Discover the Ancient Scriptures of God's Love For You (Paperback)
Came across Eckankar in the early '90's. A very bad and transitioning time in my life. Never dawned on me then that this could be a cult. Started having OBE's when heavily reading this material. People thought I was crazy dabbling in this. Noone had ever heard of Eckankar, thought it was weird. This book talks about the light and sound of God, which is an electric current called HU and synonymous with the Holy Spirit. Aliens, death, afterlife, dreams state etc is the theme of these books and the religion itself. They basically believe that while here you are in learning and you are to worship the current leader, all the while donating money. Last I knew, they had a mini Taj Mahal in Chanhassen, MN. I eventually abandoned this religion, and wrote it off as a cult when they started to suggest Harold Klemp was God. This is the same man that took his predecessor's wife. I would still become a member of Eckankar than Scientology even with the information I know of Eckankar.

WONDERFUL INSIGHTS,
This review is from: The Shariyat-Ki-Sugmad Book I: Discover the Ancient Scriptures of God's Love For You (Paperback)
To me, this is pure gold. It resonates in its striking truths, and if we're ready for them, we sense the authentic power in both the Shariyats (volumes one and two). It's pretty deep stuff, actually, but if you harmonize with it, then no more needs to be said. Suggestion: Simply read with the open golden heart, not the analytical mind. Also, possibly Stranger by the River or In my Soul I am Free could be better starting points into Paul's spiritual focus. A whole new life for you?

Paulji Creates a Complex Spiritual Path,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Shariyat-Ki-Sugmad Book I: Discover the Ancient Scriptures of God's Love For You (Paperback)
Actually, Paul Twitchell created a "spiritual path" that became a "religion" by the current leader of Eckankar, Harold Klemp. This book represents volume one of Eckankar's Holy Books. It is Eckankar's position that this book is merely truth such as it is, and that this truth is based on the spiritual maturity of the audience at the time the book was written. For the reader to discover higher truths the seeker is advised to read the book on the Astral plane (where other volumes are kept). There could be several versions of truth for any particular topic, which would fit the consciousness of the reader. The book is very interesting and has some very useful information. However, the reader must keep in mind that there is much dogma interwoven into this book. This book is more for members of Eckankar than for the general public, and parts of this book will seem complex and confusing for anyone except a very well grounded High Initiate.

A Holy Book for the Eckankar Religion/Cult of Klemp,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Shariyat-Ki-Sugmad Book I: Discover the Ancient Scriptures of God's Love For You (Paperback)
This book has a lot of dogma concerning the "Mahanta" who is considered the highest consciousness on Earth. The Mahanta (Harold Klemp) is the Outer Master, the Inner Master, the Dream Master, the Word, the Lord of Hosts and is the right hand of the SUGMAD. The "Mahanta" is greater than the "God" of all religions and not just the prophets and saviors of these religions! The "God" of the religions of the world, according to the Shariyat, resides on the 2nd or 4th Plane and a High Initiate (H.I.) in Eckankar begins on the 5th Plane. The "Mahanta" resides on the 14th Plane (Plane = Heaven). Sugmad is greater than the Mahanta, however. Twitchell also created the linage of Eck (Eckankar) Masters in order to give validation to his own position. He mentions a number of these masters in this book. Eckankar was actually created by using the book "The Path of the Masters" by Julian P. Johnson and by using his former spiritual path of Radasoami Satsang which teaches the Audible Life Stream. Twitchell claims he was initiated by Rebazar Tarzs, but his former master was really Kirpal Singh who he refers to as Sudar Singh. Twitchell quit his former spiritual path around 1965, and no longer referred to Kirpal Singh in 1966. Twitchell mentions Sudar Singh and claims he was the Living Eck Master, but since Twitchell left Radasoami he was not initiated by Sudar (Kirpal). Therefore, Twitchell creates the Eck master Rebazar Tarzs in order to be initiated and to establish a lineage of masters to give validity to his incredible claims. Klemp has continued the tradition of deception to insure his power over his blind followers. Been there... done that... time to move on!Try reading "Confessions of a God Seeker" by Ford Johnson to get even a better perspective of this book and of the three Eckankar masters... Twitchell, Gross, and Klemp.

This review is from: The Shariyat-Ki-Sugmad Book I: Discover the Ancient Scriptures of God's Love For You (Paperback)
The Shariyat-Ki-Sugmad books 1 and 2 are excellent for anyone seriously wanting to know more about themselves and God. I think it's best to read a little and then contemplate on what I've read. Challenge what I don't understand and wait for understanding. One can read these books over and over and each time come away with new realizations. I have been studying these books for over 30 years and they only become more exciting each time I open the pages. The written words are only links to inner awareness.
