Product Description

From the Manufacturer

Designed for delicate and intricate work such as joinery, mortising and dovetailing, this is the finest and most accurate Japanese saw. It is excellent for use in cutting moldings and making clean, splinter-free cuts in cabinetry and furniture-making. The blade is so precise that you can make cuts as thin as 1/32-inch (sliver off an end of a piece of hardwood). Be careful not to abuse the saw's thin blade. DO NOT jerk or force the saw. Use light, smooth pull strokes and let the saw do the cutting.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good saw, July 22, 2007

This review is from: Shark Corp 10-2610 Takumi Dozuki 9-Inch Super Fine Cut Saw (Tools & Home Improvement)
I have been cutting quite a few dovetails with this saw. It works great making very smooth straight cuts. I have to admit that I have not used another brand of Japanese dovetail saw to compare this one to but since this one does such a great job I'll stick with it.

2.0 out of 5 stars Suddenly Began to lose teeth, July 5, 2011

This review is from: Shark Corp 10-2610 Takumi Dozuki 9-Inch Super Fine Cut Saw (Tools & Home Improvement)
This is the second saw of this type I have have owned. The first one lasted several years and I was extremely pleased with it. This one suddenly began to fail today for no discernable reason. What I mean by fail is that I noticed while cutting a peice of bamboo (that was not particularly difficult to cut) that several of the teeth had broken causing the saw to hang in certain spots. These had apparently broken off earlier while I was cutting some quarter round. The next thing I knew the teeth were all breaking off or bending. It was like the metal was suddenly failing!! I can only imagine that the alloy they used to make my first saw was very different from this one. At this price and with only casual use and I can't recommend this saw anymore. I bought it in November of 2010 and have kept it hanging in its plastic case when not in use. It should not be breaking like this.

what a great tool... was useing the Dozuki this weekend for cutting trim I was putting up in our bedroom. I made a quick miterbox so I could cut the needed 45's and away i went. the saw is super sharp and cuts really fast and smooth.
