This product does a lot. This is not a carpet shampooer, so please be aware of that before you purchase. It is a vacuum, a sweeper, and a water extractor. Personally, I have found this to be one of the best buys I have made. The suction is really good, and the flexibility from going from carpet to bare floor is great. I have used a Rainbow and this isnt a rainbow. I didnt not expect an imitation Rainbow; however I was expecting something about the same size. You don't have to change the attachment unless you want. The only downside, which I consider minor, is you have to dump the water and it's a cumbersome task if you are cleaning a lot of rooms. Warning-the water does not smell good once you are finished. However, when you see the amount of hair and dirt lifted, it's well worth the price. The added feature of having no exhaust coming from the cleaner itself is an extra added bonus which I really loved. There is nothing more annoying than having a vacuum blow dirt back out when you are trying to vacuum. Another review said the attachments were cheaply made. I disagree. I have used this a lot since my purchase and never had a problem.

5.0 out of 5 stars Who needs a Rainbow?, November 3, 2006
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Shark CW240 Bagless Water Filtration Vac (Kitchen)
I was shopping for a Rainbow e2 on ebay and ran into a merchant that was advertising the Shark H2O Bagless and bragging about it that his wife loves it and that it was much better than the Rainbow, boosting 1100v of power. Apparently he's a reseller and believer. I decided to scope out Amazon and see if they had it first, before bidding on it through ebay. His starting price was ~$300. To my amazement Amazon had it AND the machine was loved by the majority of the users and it had a low price of $150 (if you use the evoucher NOVSAVER ). I decided to give it a shot and if I don't like it then sell it on ebay for twice as much. The machine arrived today 10/3/2006. Very easy to use. I added the water and vacuumed an area that was just vacuumed by my wife. It was incredible! When we looked at the water ... it was gray and full of dust, hair, trash ... amazing! This machine is obviously a great buy for us. You cannot lose for $150 (includes tax and shipping through Amazon prime). Think about it. It does not need any filters, does not produce any dust while cleaning or when its time to empty it, has incredible power and comes with attachments for your wood floor, carpet, water, auto and furniture. The Rainbow that my neighboor bought cost her $2100. I recommend it and for $150, I am giving it a solid 5 stars.

This machine all and all it does what it says it does. I love the fact that I don't have to deal with filters and left over dust in the air. The attachments are not that bad, they seem to do their job. Also the power that this machine has cleans a room in minutes. I think for what you are getting, its great bargain.

4.0 out of 5 stars Works well...., September 25, 2005
This review is from: Shark CW240 Bagless Water Filtration Vac (Kitchen)
It does its job well and the dust is not flying around when you're vacuuming or emptying the canister. It does smell bad afterwards-I guess it just depends on how dirty your house is and how often you vacuum, so change the water often before and after using it, which can be a little bit cumbersome but well worth it. I would give this 5 stars but the downside is that it is a bit loud so I have to wear earplugs and I wouldn't let my toddler or any young children be around when I'm using it because of that.

I have used a Rainbow and this isnt a rainbow. I didnt not expect an imitation Rainbow; however I was expecting something about the same size. The things I was dissipointed in were: the size of the vac is so large (very tall), the instructions pretty much suck, you only use a little water, the rotating bristles are air driven, it does not work well on heavy/thick carpet, its really difficult to clean out. The things I am most impressed with is that it really does pick up a lot of dirt and pet hair and I love the way my house smells after using this vac. There is no dust left floating around my house. The first day I got it I vacuumed my whole house and not once did I feel plugged up from the dust and pet dander that is usually floating all over the house after vacuuming even just one room with my old vac.

I have allergies and this vac has GOT to be the best thing I have found!
Well made, easy to run, easy to clean (altho your hands will get dirty cleaning it)Lots of brushes and accessories. Huge amounts of power. I could not believe how much hair and dirt I picked up. We have wood heat, and it even picks up chunks of bark! Cleans the furniture easily, and I have a huge Airedale and a hairy cat.
I was really wary when I saw the price..ya get what ya pay for , right?
Well, This is a really really good buy!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Investment, February 28, 2007
This review is from: Shark CW240 Bagless Water Filtration Vac (Kitchen)
I have a dog that sheds a lot. With my old vacuum, I would have to clean the hair from the brush after a couple of rooms. With the Water Vac, I did not have to clean the brush out after I cleaned the entire house. The air smelled cleaner, my floors were clean and free of pet hair. I would recommend this vacuum to anyone who is tired of buying expensive filters and belts for their upright vacuum. If you are thinking of purchasing a Dyson, I would recommend the Shark water vacuum first. It is the best investment you could make in a household product.

Best vacuum cleaner ever for the price. it used to take more than one pass with a "good" vacuum to get the house clean (plus one manual pass with a brush to pick up all the cat hair). Those days are gone thanks to this product!

4.0 out of 5 stars great vac!!, April 12, 2007
This review is from: Shark CW240 Bagless Water Filtration Vac (Kitchen)
I was actually impressed with this vac. The suction on it is unbelievable, and what is neat about it, is that I can control the suction on it. when your done using the vac, make sure you immediately empty the container, if you dont, you will be sorry...phew!! the vac came with alot of attachments, which was really nice. I used all of them, and they all worked great except one. it was broken. The attachments do seem a little flimsy, but no more then any other item you buy not made in this country. The vac is very easy to use. and the great part is that the plug is very long. I purchased the vac because, I cant stand the bagless vacs that are out there. the dust flys everywhere when you take the container off of the machine. The shark of course does'nt do that. makes breathing easier for me and my family. hope this helped.Shark CW240 Bagless Water Filtration Vac

The vacuum is terrific. My house was clean as it was just vacuumed with my other upright Hoover Windtunnel,(I thought) I filled an entire zip lock bag with the debris that was left! The Hoover cost twice as much. The only complaint is the accessories are flimsy. The carpet head has no height adjustment so it is an effort to use on regular pile, but works fine on hardwood and oriental rugs.
