Horrible Design,
This review is from: Shark EP601S Bagless Stick Vac (Kitchen)
1. To use the hose, you must stop the vacuum, remove the bottom unit, and plug the hose in. Shark claims this as a feature...but try it just once and you will see how useless this is. Simply put, the hose is useless for quick pick ups around baseboards.2. The cord is way too short. 3. The handle is way too short. Anyone over 5'11" will have a sore back bending over. 4. The unit is hard to move on carpet, and does a rather poor job of picking up anything other than fine dust. 5. Suction is merely adequate. I am returning mine!

Good Secondary Portable Vacuum,
By A Customer
This review is from: Shark EP601S Bagless Stick Vac (Kitchen)
Note that I found two models at a local store - one rated at 900W with a standard filter, and one rated at 1000W that included a HEPA filter (in addition to a standard filter). Both were going for $59.99 so went with the 1000W model. Easy to set up (snap on chrome handle and vacuum head), very light weight, and easy to use. Exhaust shoots out the side, away from the user (which is not the case for many vacs I have tried - gets old real quick eating vac exhaust!). Very small and flimsy looking unit has stood up to a good beating after a month of use. Works great as a car/shop vac - suction is impressive. Does a decent job on stairs, drapes, lampshades. Where I found it lacking was in doing floors. You really need a roller brush to do a good job cleaning carpets - this unit will not replace a standard vacuum. Also, small head (about 9 inches wide) means alot more strokes on your part to ensure you cover the whole area. Unit did not come with a wand extension (and the hose was pretty short) so doing floors along walls required frequent bending on my part (I'm 5'10"). Did a decent job on linoleum and hardwood floors, though my standard vac did a better job and more quickly with its larger vac head. So for floors, this unit did a decent job as a quick picker-upper, but could not get close to the performance of standard vacuums on floors. In design - it was pretty good. Did not like shoulder strap attachment as it is too small IMO and when attached will get tangled up with vac head. Filter removal and cleaning was a breeze (much better than others I have recently tried). Telescoping handle needs to be fully extended for comfortable use - may be a problem for those 6' tall or taller. Wife liked the portability, especially on stairs and doing drapes/lamp shades. But she found it difficult to push on our large area rug - high suction tended to suck up the rug. Bottom line - recommend buy as a secondary vac for specialty jobs (i.e. shop, car, stairs, lamp shades, etc), travel, and quick pick ups. Does not replace standard floor vac.

Small yet powerful,

I first saw this vacuum on the TV in an informercial ad. After watching for about an hour, I was compeled to buy one and test it out. The first week I got it I tried it out everywhere there was carpet in my house. Then I used this baby in my car. It's so light weight and very conveniant. I use it every week on my car. It keeps the car spotless of any crumbs I leave from eating. It always leaves my kitchen rug spotless after I eat. Not to mention storage, it fits in small spaces. Not only that, its so portable. I can carry it up and down the stairs with ease. I would definately recommend this product.

I love this little vacuum!,

I have had all kinds of expensive, big, bulky, heavy-duty vacuums for the carpets, but my tile floors were a real problem. I bake cakes for a living so there was a continual problem with crumbs and other junk, especially on the kitchen floor. This little vacuum picks up absolutely everything and has terrific suction--it even gets up spilt powdered sugar which nothing else seemed to do effectively. It's so lightweight that I can vacuum my glass stovetop, my big marble table and all the chairs without even converting it to a hand vacuum. It doesn't work easily on plush carpet because it's too hard and impractical to push for long on carpet. However, for bathrooms, foyers, kitchen areas or any non-carpet area in your home it can't get much better than this. I've rated it a 5 because it fits my needs exactly! I'm completely thrilled with it and it's MUCH easier than sweeping and bending to pick everything up after you've swept. Also, it's easy to empty and clean without messing with bags. I think it's FABULOUS!

From reading the other reviews, I gather I was lucky that I didn't see the infomercial before buying my EuroPro Shark Bagless Stick Broom. I didn't see this little guy picking up any safes or bowling balls, so my expectations didn't get all out of whack.I bought this because we just moved into a house that has mostly bare floors and two flights of stairs. I knew going into my purchase that electric brooms aren't really made for carpets and handheld vacuum cleaners have less power than than big ol' uprights. But I knew I wanted the portability of both the electric broom and a handheld vac, and this fit the bill. And I've gotta say that I'm pleased with how it does what I bought it to do. It does a fine job of cleaning my hardwood and tile floors and it gets the stairs done, too. The flight of stairs with a carpeted runner took a little work, but I'm willing to go over the same spot 2-3 times if it means I don't have to lug a massive machine up and down the steps. It also did a fine job on some of my small area rugs. But I agree that when it comes to carpets with any pile height at all, the Shark isn't the best choice. So I don't think I'm going to give up my full size vacuum; it has its place--cleaning my two carpeted rooms, when my mother-in-law visits, etc. But for quick sweeping, I think my Shark will do just fine.

Does only what they show in the commercials.,

The EuroPro Shark Bagless stick broom is OK, but only at what the people show on those info-mercials. Although it cleans floors and low-thread carpets, it stinks, and I mean stinks, at cleaning high-thread carpets. My living room gets trampled on alot, and it contains high-thread carpets. I've tried to clean them with this shark, but it won't pick up hardly any dirt, and even leaves debris from its brushes in its wake! Now, I have had this vacuum for a year now, and the only place where it does OK is the stairway. Even then, the cord is to short to properly reach the top floor. The old Hoover I have can still do everything needed. If I would buy anything at all from EuroPro, it would be either the Shark EP708SH Spectra Bagless Upright, or the Fantom FM740 Twister 300SE Upright. Oh, and whenever I run that little Shark across the floor, it squeaks (Even after application of WD-40).

Mixed feelings,

This review is from: Shark EP601S Bagless Stick Vac (Kitchen)
It's lightweight and quiet but it takes twice as long to vacuum my area rugs with it. Hair and stuff gets stuck in the brissles so you have to comb that out plus having to empty the container and clean it and clean the filter after every use, it's not the thing for rugs so I'm looking for a more appropriate one.

Expensive Junk!,

This review is from: Shark EP601S Bagless Stick Vac (Kitchen)
I bought mine from an infomercial last year and thought it would be great for my tiny apartment I was living in at the time. WRONG! If you have any pets, don't bother because all it does is push the dog hair into little rolls all over the carpet! I could see using it for quick pick ups on a bare floor and thats about it. It is a hassle to use and the attachments fall off easily and get lost. ....

EURO-PRO Bagless Stick Shark Model EP601,
By A Customer
This review is from: Shark EP601S Bagless Stick Vac (Kitchen)
I was so excited to purchase The Shark after all I had heard about it on TV. I was convinced about its abilities and anxious to try it out. However, after I assembled the vacuum and plugged it in, I was very disappointed. The suction power is nothing near what it claims to do in the informercial and on the box. It is NOT "1 1/2 the suction power of a full size vac". Or does it have "enough suction power to lift 150lbs. In fact, I put it to the test, and The Shark could not lift a 5lb dumbell! Not only was The Shark a lousy purchace but the customer service leaves a great deal to be desired. It took SEVERAL attempts to get through. Then when I did, I was on hold for over 20 minutes. When I finally spoke with a customer service representative, I got an attitude, instead of assistance. I received rude and evasive comments. There were no apologizes given or even understanding regarding my disappointment in their product. I feel The Shark is a lemon. It pretty much bites, and so does the customer service.

Worse Vacuum machine,

It has no powder, cannot pick up little things, even on the wood floor, and it gets hot and the machine shut off. It didn't carry out any tasks advertised on T.V.
